Yun-ho Chun, CF

Chun was 23 at the beginning of the league and played very well for 9 straight seasons with the Texas Rangers. He won the 1903 MVP, 8 Gold Gloves, and one World Series. He was selected to 5 All-Star games. He is the current career record holder for At-Bats (8507), Runs (1123), and Caught Stealing (603). In his run through the 1909 season, he averaged 157 games played per season with his only serious injury a hamstring strain. Most of his time was spent with the Rangers but he did move around the league a little bit once he turned 36.

Joe Ramage, RHP

Ramage was a 20 year old at Mississippi State in 1900 and won the inaugural NCAA Pitcher of the Year Award, once striking out 17 players. He was drafted 2nd overall by the Giants in 1902 and became the top prospect in 1903. He had a very good career, getting invited to 4 all-star games and providing top of the rotation value for 11 seasons. He was very durable throughout his career, starting 35 or more games throughout 9 of those 11 high value seasons.

Rob Mosher, CF

Mosher did not win any Gold Glove awards for his work in CF, but he did win 10 Silver Sluggers. He also went to 5 All-Star games, won two World Series, and was the 1910 AL Championship MVP for the Astros. The 10th overall draft pick in 1902 out of San Diego State, Mosher holds the MLB career records for Total Bases (3292), Doubles (287), and Triples (324).

Zhaire Daniel, RHP

Daniel had a short but productive career, playing parts of only 10 seasons but twice finishing in the top 3 for Pitcher of the Year. On a side note, the game messed up Daniel's MLB service time somehow. He should have less that 10 years but it says 15. He did not exist in 1900 when the fake service times were put into place.

Sherwood Conkel, 3B

Conkel was drafted 5th overall out of the University of Georgia in 1903 and became the Dodgers starting 3B in 1904. He had 12 productive seasons in the above average range, making 2 All-Star teams and winning the World Series once.

Josh Fowler, C

Fowler was the very first draft pick in the very first draft. He was a 4-time All-Star, won a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger and a World Series winner. He stayed relatively healthy in his career, playing 12 seasons with 10 of those as the primary catcher for his team. He retired at the age of 41 as one of the most productive catchers in MLB history.

Kevin Caperton, LF

Originally from Hawaii, Caperton was drafted 3rd overall in 1902 out of New Mexico State. He made two all-star teams, won three silver sluggers, was the 1910 NL Championship Series MVP, and the 1913 NL Division Series MVP. He had a career year in 1910 with 5.7 WAR and was an above average player for 10 season. He retires with the 7th most hits in MLB history.

Jonathan Hiatt, RHP

Hiatt had a few very dominant years, going to 4 straight all-star games and winning the Reliever of the Year award in 3 of those 4 seasons. He was drafted 18th overall by the Royals in 1902 out of West Babylon High School.

Jackson Fetzner, 2B

Fetzner was drafted in 1906 out of Stanford in the Supplemental first round. He led the league in walks four straight years and won the silver slugger each of those four years. He also went to one all-star game.

Kurt Bridges, RHP

Bridges was part of the initial 1900 MLB season, pitching 40 games for the Cardinals. He won two World Series Championships, one with the Pirates and the other with the Phillies. He led the league in saves in 1911 as the Yankees closer and his 363 career saves are second only to Tim Beckman.

Treyton Murph, RHP

Murph was drafted in the 8th round by the Blue Jays out of IMG Academy in 1904. He was then traded to the Reds for Alfredo Cruz and then to the Astros for Yago Pimentel. The Astros finally called him up and he spent his entire major league career on the team, winning the World Series with them in 1910 and making the 1913 All-Star team. He also finished in the top 3 for Reliever of the Year twice.

Walker Rosen, LF

The 3rd overall pick in 1911 out of Michigan played half a season in the majors in 1912 and then started producing in 1912. He won the 1916 MVP, 4 Silver Sluggers, 1 Gold Glove, and has made 4 All-Star teams. the Rangers inexplicably placed him on waivers in 1916 and the Astros snatched him up.

Mitsuo Azuma, CF

Azuma has had injury problems but is still capable of providing value. He was drafted 7th overall by the Brewers in 1906 out of Hardaway High School and made his debut in 1911. He has gone to two all-star games and was the 1915 World Series MVP with the Championship Brewers.

Brantley Kriegel, CF

Drafted 8th overall in 1912 from the University of Minnesota. He won the 1917 MVP award and has won both a gold glove and silver slugger. He has also made two all-star teams.

Librado Dorado, LHP

A lefty pitcher discovered out of the Dominican Republic by the Expos in 1908. He debuted in 1913 and by 1915 was one of the top pitchers in the league. He has made three all-star teams and finished 2nd in the 1917 NL Pitcher of the Year voting.

Samuela Fakahua, 2B

A 1st round draft pick by the Braves in 1909 out of Oklahoma State. He was an all-star and silver slugger in 1915 and won the World Series with the Braves this past year.

Shawn Pirkle, 2B

Pirkle was on the 1912 Royals Championship team having been drafted by them in the 1st round of 1909 out of Arizona. He has provided solid above-average value for 6 years.

Dino Reyes, RHP

Another good young Expos pitcher after spending most of his time with the Rangers. He was an international discovery from the Dominican Republic in 1904 and debuted in 1910.

Tyler Arant, 2B

Also on the Montreal Expos, Arant was drafted by them 5th overall in 1912 from the Kansas Jayhawks. He took over the starting job in 1913, has made 2 all-star teams, and provided above average value every year.

The NCAA was in really good shape this year, in fact there were more unsigned draftees than there were spots to put on a team.

Top Prospects:
Kyle Matthews - He was the top overall prospect in 1913 as well as 1912. He had a very good year in 1918, winning the silver slugger at 3B and amassing 4.8 WAR.

Tito Miller - He took over as the top pitching prospect in 1913 and has had a good career so far with 2 all-star appearances. He has missed quite a bit of time due to injury, most recently a 9 month period with a partially torn labrum.

Draftees:
Jon Folsom - The top draft prospect and overall 4th pick in the 1913 draft. He made the 1916 all-star team and has been solidly above average since his debut in 1916.

Seth Lawson - The top high school draft prospect but was not the top high school draftee. He finally got to the major leagues in 1917 after putting up some huge numbers in AA.

Kangi Bossart - The top pitcher in the 1913 draft has won the the last two Pitcher of the Year awards and made two all-star teams.

Andy Qumi - He was actually drafted 1st in 1913 and has been an above average LF for the Rockies. He has won 4 silver sluggers, gone to two all-star games, and was the 1915 NL Division Series MVP.

Thomas Hagan - He was the top high school draftee. His debut year was less than stellar but in both 1917 and 1918 he has put up over 8 WAR. He won the Rookie of the Year, MVP, gold glove, has gone to two all-star games, and is a World Series champ. All before turning 24.

Rory Loos - Loos was the top pitcher drafted and got to the major leagues very quickly. He has been a middle of the rotation starter for the Blue Jays.

Award Winners:
Ryder Jackson - After winning Pitcher of the Year in 1913, his performance dropped down to middle of the rotation level.

Darian Dumond - He was the 1913 AL Rookie of the Year and followed that up with a very good 1914. In 1915, he had a ruptured Achilles tendon and a ruptured medial collateral ligament which put him out for over a year. Following that, he has had a whole slew of injuries.

Other:
Levi Bryant - He had only the second 3 HR game in the majors. He's still around, playing for the Rockies with a few good years and a few bad years.

Scott Resley - Resley had a 41 game hitting streak that never ended as he graduated from college. He's currently on the Cubs AAA team and has yet to play a major league game.

Freddy Fleischer - He pitched the first perfect game in MLB history. 1913 was the best year of his career - 5.9 WAR, all-star team, and AL Division Series MVP. In 1914, he was still above average, but then his career started to fall apart alongside should injuries and he retired in 1918.

Jack Gilkey - The top free agent in the 1913 offseason has been a mid-rotation starter for the White Sox with still two more years left on his contract.

Smack Housand - He was the top hitter on the market. He had one average year for the Royals followed by a few bad ones. He's back on the market heading into his age 33 season.

Dominic Streeper - The top unsigned draftee is already in the Majors. He played 3 years at TCU and was drafted again in 1916. He spent most of the 1918 season with the White Sox as their starting RF.
