Pocono ended up winning it all over the uber-team of the Devil Hunters, and pretty handily! |

Was all set to start complaining. I bought a Mike Trout and my reward was to start the season 0-4. Now I'm 4-4.

Martinez is basically a high diamond hitter with no D or baserunning. He's probably the 3rd best Live hitter after Trout and Betts.

My free to play Gutter Cats got an 8000 windfall for a couple of achievements in scoring 26 runs in a game. Got a Henry Aaron card to platoon with Killebrew in a DH role.

Yup, and unless you have a surplus of Perfects, he should be your DH. Missed the Triple Corwn with him by 1 hit in a Gold league last season.

Yeah, I've had him for the first 3 seasons hes always been pretty good but I wanted to try something else. Simba is a huge defensive upgrade at short who has a quality bat, and I want to try rotating people in and out of the DH spot to keep them rested

I just won the WS in another Silver league with Simmons. He had +35.4 Zone Runs in just 118 games. That's Top 10 all-time, possibly the best all-time if he played the full season.

One of my teams made the playoffs (wild card) last year in Bronze and are once again in bronze which is confusing, but at least it's a good place to farm PP.

My Clippers team is in D311 and is off to a 3-9 start. Most games have been pretty close so it's not quite as bad as it looks. For example, my team just lost a 22 inning game.
I've not made any upgrades to the team since before we started the gold league season so that's not helped. I only have 3.1k PP so not much I can do at the moment.

Well, my Saint Paul Saints are getting crushed so I decided to try my luck on Christmas Eve and buy 5 packs.....pulled the ubiquitous 100 Mike Trout and a 93 Darren Daulton. Daulton litterally sold for 21k within 3 minutes of me putting him up for auction.I was going for an all historical team but man, I'm getting killed. So I think I'll start Trout. That means Duke Snider get's put up for auction.

Yea, it's a bit of a sell out but I got him super duper cheap from packs and he can really hit. Seems like he'll also draw a crazy number of walks. |

Gold league off to a good start this year, going 16-9 with 1 game left in April. My silver league team on the other hand is at 10-15 for the month with 1 game to play.

How do you follow up winning the Bronze and Gold Cy Young awards? Well, this is a good way to start out Diamond League, giving up 2 runs in 5 games. This is Dolf Luque, who apparently only gives up runs when you hit balls over the outfield wall. Thankfully he's one of the best in the game at suppressing HR. Unfortunately his offense didn't help him get the W the two times he did give up a run.
Yet, he lost Pitcher of the Month to '96 John Smoltz because apparently straight WAR is the only thing that matters since Luque basically leads everywhere else, including rWAR, ERA+, WPA. Fun note: Those two HRs were to light-hitting, left-handed, elite defensive OFs, rookie Ichiro (20 HR rating) and Devon White (54 HR rating). Last edited by DonkeyKongSr; 12-25-2018 at 01:40 AM. |

Gold .288, just glad wasn't trolled again and moved up to Diamond.
had sold 97 Rickey Henderson for 90k and still have 35k in rp hoping for a rare Giant to pop up, but have Mays, McCovey, Bobby Bonds in the lineup. after reading this thread, selling the 100 Trout for 32k seems like a bad move. The only reason I sold him was seeing so many of his cards on the market and the price falling. |

Coons came out first in April - what a strange feeling! Okay, we're only up by a game, but it's so different to entering May trailing by 8 1/2
Going through the pains of retraining Xander Bogaerts to second base currently. I could have done this seasons ago, but I kept fudging with different second basemen and never got what I wanted. I had Bogaerts since early on, but he never got more than 300 PA with odd assignments, but currently he is the 2B starter and batting .303 with 4 HR and 15 RBI. My defense, however, is currently one of the worst in the league - and everybody that ever followed the classic Raccoons knows I like my D. So, yeah, I am appreciating his performance with a scroungy face. I really wanted to make Clyde Milan work in the leadoff spot and taking RF late in the last season and to start this season; he reached base at a .237 clip. Impossible to work with. Got a George Springer on the cheap last night to replace him and reshuffled some things, but I don't really have a true leadoff man right now. It's now actually Bogaerts (.361 OBP)... Also noticed I am in a division with and already beat up on the team of Rich Grisham. No idea how OOTPD and the baseball gods will repay me for that one

Gold 295 this season after a division winner in Silver 266 last year that was upset in the playoffs. I've spent next to nothing on this club (20 bucks). Trying to do it on the cheap. Anyone can spend a couple hundred bucks and build a juggernaut.
