Interesting Trade Result

OK...

Have started a Historical replay and I'm currently in the off-season...players are declaring free agency or players are not being signed by clubs....

Here is something odd....

June 4th, 1935

Leafs trade Pete Palangio to Detroit for Gus Marker

June 5th, 1935

Leafs Pete Palangio informs Leaf management that he will not resign with them and will test the free agent market.

Imagine the look on his face when they tell him he was traded just yesterday......

Hmm, not sure if that's a quirk of the sequence the news announcements are created in, or if the trade ended the contract negotiations and that message got sent automatically. I'll see if I can figure it out.
