Japan Tourney of Eliminators

It may be a good way to decide the mandatory challenger against our national champ that willing participants duly rated by our commission (Japan Boxing Commision; JBC) fight in annual tournaments of eliminators in pursuit of the right to have a compulsory crack at the Japanese championship. The results of the finals in the tournaments are as follows:
140 lbs: JBC#3 southpaw hard-puncher Shinya Iwabuchi (17-3, 14 KOs), 140, a muscular youngster, needed just 97 seconds of the opening session to halt #4 Koichi Aso (13-3-1, 8 KOs), 140, with a single solid left in a scheduled eight. Iwabuchi will be entitled to have a mandatory shot next spring against Yuji Wauke who wrested the national super-light belt from Shinya Nagase on the previous night.
130 lbs: Fast-punching JBC#2 Daiki Kaneko (14-2-3, 7 KOs), 130, stunned the crowd with his quick demolition of ex-top contender Hiroyasu Matsuzaki (20-6-1, 10 KOs), 130, at 1:54 of the second round. Kaneko will face national titlist Seiichi Okada next year.
122 lbs: JBC#4 Yasutaka Ishimoto (19-5, 3 KOs), 122, displayed slick-punching from the fourth on and earned an important unanimous verdict (77-75, 78-74 and 79-73) over Yu Enya (22-3-2, 10 KOs), 122, over eight. The upset victor’s target will be world-rated champ Masaaki Serie.
115 lbs: In an encounter of southpaws Teiru Kino****a (13-0-1, 3 KOs), 115, fought to a technical draw with formerly world-rated Go Onaga (17-1-2, 12 KOs), 115, because of the latter being badly bloodied at the right side of the head at 1:06 of the fourth round in a scheduled eight. Kino****a was voted by judges to proceed and acquire the right to challenge national ruler Yota Sato next spring, although the result itself should be registered as TD4 by the JBC.
108 lbs: Quick-punching top contender Ryoichi Taguchi (16-1, 7 KOs), 108, was awarded a TKO win over ex-amateur national champ Yu Kimura (9-2-1, 1 KO), 108, due to Kimura’s bad laceration at 0:23 of the sixth session.

Fast-punching Japanese left hooker Akira Yaegashi (15-2, 8 KOs), 105, impressively captured the WBA minimum belt as he gamely exchanged punches, overwhelmed defending champ Pornsawan Porpramook (23-4-1, 16 KOs), 105, Thailand, with crisp counters and finally caught the fading titlist with a fusillade of punches to prompt the referee’s halt at 2:38 of the tenth round on Monday in Tokyo, Japan.

He will be in the next batch of boxers rated. I am just hoping they post a video so I can watch it before rating him.

Yaegashi vs. Ioka would be a huge money fight in Japan. I can see that happening with the other two titles currently in limbo.
