That sounds odd. What exactly can't be created? Who or what told you it's an issue with file permissions?
Maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but I'm pretty sure we couldn't update in the game with 6.5 so what you must be doing is downloading the files to your computer outside of OOTP, putting them in the OOTP folder and then trying to load the league with the game. When exactly does it say what it says? I imagine the new tech support site (a link to it is in my sig) might be more for OOTP10, but you might want to also post for help there.

kq76 thanks for the quick response
i essentially cant extract zipped league files. my commish told me that its a known issue, but he couldnt remember the solution, something about file permissions. I get the error message when I try to extract the league files into the ootp6.5 folder I actually posted to the new tech thread and it got moved, I guess. I dont see the post right now |

Ahh, the problem is starting to come back to me.
Try extracting it elsewhere first, like your desktop and then move it. Or try running both your extraction program and OOTP in admin mode. I remember I had to do something specificly different with OOTP6 and vista, but I can't recall exactly what it was. Something tells me another option is installing OOTP6 somewhere other than your program files folder. Ahh, here we go. I found the old online league thread on the topic. You have a number of options. |
