European fighters

I have been rating quite a few postwar European fighters to add to my universe, and thought I'd share them with the TBCB community by posting them here. Please add any Euro boxers you may have drawn up.

Mario Vecchiatto

A onetime EBU lightweight champion (1959-'60), this Italian lost to Bruno Visintin, Dave Charnley, and Angel (Robinson) Garcia, but beat Orlando Zulueta, Fernand Nollet, and Lahouari Godih while battling Duilio Loi and Sandro Lopopolo to a draw. His career stretched from 1954 to 1963.

Ziyaris Taki

A rare bird, Taki was a native of Istanbul, although he fought out of Vienna. He was a welterweight without a punch (one knockout in 62 career bouts) and something of a glass chin (kayoed six times), but Taki was a regular on the European circuit from 1951 to 1962, compiling a record of 40-14-8.

Allan Tanner

A middle-of-the-pack lightweight. No relation to Ritchie Tanner (I think), although he too was born in Guyana, Allan Tanner fought mainly in England from 1948 to 1955, compiling a record of 39-25-3 (13).

Hoacine Khalfi

Another workhorse lightweight. Khalfi was born in Oran, but fought out of Paris. He lost a French lightweight title bout in 1957 to fellow Algerian Lahouari Godih. (Just curious. Can you imagine two Vietnamese boxers facing each other for an American title at the height of the Vietnam war?) At all events, Khalfi fought from 1948 till '57; he finished with a record of 45-21-6 (15).
