BZ 3092: Windows shortcut for unlicensing does not work
So I installed OOTP X on my new mini-computer (an Acer)... Except I only have a 1024x600 screen. I can't run OOTP in such a small screen size, so basically I need to uninstall it.
I want to un-license it before I uninstall so I can still use my two licenses (on two other computers I have at home). In the past, I've seen an eLicense option in the control panel, and also when I right-click the ootp.exe file. This time around, neither is available. So I can't launch the game, but I also can't seem to disable my license. Any suggestions, please? Thanks! |

To unlicense you need to do the following. Assuming you are using XP
From start, click all programs, then click Out of the Park Developments, then click Out of the Park Baseball 10, then click, Tools, then select unlicense OOTP 10. |

Except that the shortcut doesn't work. :P (BZ 3092).
Are you comfortable editing the properties of the "Unlicense OOTP 10" shortcut cody described? If so, just edit it so that there is a hyphen directly before the word "unlicense," So: c:/ootp10/ootp10.exe -unlicense For example, depending on where the game is installed. |

just to be sure:
@the moment i have destination: "C:\Programme\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10\license.txt" it should be altered in: "C:\Programme\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10\ootp10.exe - unlicense" right? |

I can't follow these instructions.
In my Start menu, under Programs, there is no OOTP anything listed. I'm sure this is my fault, since I unchecked the option to create a Start Menu listing. (During the installation, you are given the option, via checkboxes, to have a Start Menu listing and to have a Desktop Shortcut. I opted for the Desktop Shortcut.) Anyway... So that method does not work for me to find an unlicense tool. So I cannot find the unlicense tool. Which means... I don't really know what I'm supposed to edit (to tag on the -unlicense thing). Is there another way to walk through this? Thanks. |

This did it for me too.
I have no idea why, but that for whatever reason, elicense control panel does not always show up in XP. However, if you have this problem, I found on Battlefront software FAQs (and then saw this too thanks to nutlaw) a way to fix that appears to work: Create a duplicate shortcut to your OOTPX exe file and change the target to: "C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10\ootp10.exe" -unlicense |

None of this is working for me. I'm using Windows XP Pro SP 3.
I've already e-mailed eLicense as I have no access to their folder in my Control Panel for some reason and my game keeps saying that it cannot continue and that it must shut down every time I try to play it. I did make a player path to database error and that seems to have completely denied me of any access to players (which of course are necessary to play the game) whatsoever. If someone could explain in baby n00bish steps exactly what needs to be altered or changed with the ootp10.exe application, it would be muchly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. |
