BZ 2328 : Waiver Claims in Online League Play Not Working
Sample Problem Description
Version: 10.2.16 PC/MAC: PC/MAC What were you doing? Claiming a player on waivers. What happened? Claim doesn't import into online league. Reproducible? Yes Problem occurs with other leagues? Yes Waiver claims seemingly aren't importing correctly or utilizing the best/worst record system. Alan T has indicated this is an issue and referenced BZ 2328, but I can't seem to find this BZ on any of the message boards. Can someone from OOTP Developments confirm waiver claims work correctly with online league play? |

Fred, Thanks for logging this, it will be helpful for future online commishes that run into this issue. This BZ is still open (not fixed) and was logged prior to the Technical Support forum being opened up, which is why you likely couldn't find a thread for it. I personally am hoping it will be fixed in the next patch myself.

How does this get through Beta without being fixed?
If Waivers don't work in the online environment, how in the hell did the game get released?
FYI, our league just switched over (that's a lot of licenses sold, Markus), and now we're running into a host of issues. I guess 95% of online OOTP'ers are masochists, to deal with this garbage every version. I mean, have online waivers ever worked? Thanks for the new skins and the pbp, though. Really. Fantastic stuff. |

This is beyond unacceptable.
How does this "slip through" the beta process? We're talking about a BASIC BASEBALL TRANSACTION that doesn't work properly, it's not like it's a random bug that is buried 6 screens into something. I really have a hard time believing that there wasn't a test online league that went through a spring training process. When all players on the 40 man roster are called up, I have an even HARDER time believing that there weren't ANY players who were out of options and had to be waived with multiple teams claiming the guy. This is an absolute killer for online leagues, but I guess that doesn't matter because OOTP knows Tom Poholsky had a 3.06 ERA for St Louis in 1954. I've been a big OOTP supporter. I've been a beta tester. I've been an online league commissioner since OOTP 6.5, and I've been playing in leagues longer than that. Some of the guys in the GUBA have been playing for the better part of a DECADE. It would be nice to have a functional game. I guess we have to settle for new skins, instead.

Is this being looked at and hopefully fixed in an upcoming patch?
I certainly hope so. As Mikey said, for online leagues this is absolutely essential. Let's get this fixed please guys. |
