Baseball Reset: 2010 - Beyond
So, basically, I don't have time to write anymore the way I did for the IBF, but I still want to stay active on the board and create a stats-based dynasty simulation, so going to use this new sub-forum to do that.
Here's the premise: - Using the MLB (and all minor leagues) with all fictional players. In the starting year, 2010, all players are American. All inaugural players are between 18-20 years old. - Wiped the entire history of the MLB. For all intents and purposes, this is an entire new league. - I will be adding one country to the draft pool each season, with a % depending on how regions/countries perform in international play. There will be no IFA. - Salaries are starting extremely low just so I can control them, but will grow over time (similar to the IBF). - All league evolution factors are turned off. We'll just be playing with the 30 team MLB. - The plan is to sim 400 seasons. - International competition will be added after the 2011 season, once there is enough players for at least 2 teams (US & ??). I'll be using the outcomes of these tournament games to inform that mega country league system that I still want to create. - Plan is to sim one month per day, and sharing news/trades/top players etc. It will be the easiest way to get to know the league. I think that's about it. There's not really a story here, just someone who loves to sit and watch... sitting and watching. Hope you all enjoy! |

Sorry had to post.
You have 8 teams make the playoffs, then play a 1 game play in game. Does that not seem harsh for a team to finish first or higher, lose one game and they are out? Not sure anyone would go for that, and kind of makes the entire regular season pointless. Wouldn't making all rounds 7 game series for example, like basketball or hockey be more fair to reg season finishers. Just dropping by, as wolf says it is your league play it your way- just seemed super harsh to me thats all... |

- per your suggestion - all playoff rounds are moving to best-of-7 (will be theoretically unrealistic with real-life weather patterns, but that's okay). Thanks for the post! |
