An amusing section from Bill Simmons' latest article...

What if the Pats left Chris Hanson inactive for the Jets game and played without a punter? Wouldn't that be the ultimate slap in the face? Know this going in, Mangini ... we're not punting. Can you think of a better psychological ploy? It's one thing to go 19-0; it's another thing to be the team that intentionally scratched their punter before a game for the first-ever Eff You Transaction. Now I know what I want for Christmas.

I would find that hilarious, only because of all the Spygate and running up the score crap. Patriots have been labeled as evil because they are good, they are without care as to what anyone else thinks, and they turn every bit of hate into fuel towards a W.

Meh....I'm sick of the whole arrogant Boston fan thing from Simmons.

His tune has definitely changed recently, huh?

How soon he forgets.

I do love reading his stuff though when it has absolutely nothing to do with Boston. Some of his references and comparisons are hilarious.

I really hope no team anywhere within 100 miles of Boston ever wins a championship ever again. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

I liked Boston fans much better when all of their teams were completely horrible.

At least there's the Bruins to keep their memories fresh.

The only problem is that nobody cares about the Bruins.

Although if they started lighting the NHL up, I'm sure there'd be a lot more fans. Probably myself included.

I really do think he should stick to basketball full-time. It seems to be his best subject...

Couldn't agree more. I'm still waiting for his top-40 (50?) trade value column, which is overdue but worth the wait.
