Situational Mound Visit
My rookie reliever, Ryan Cataldo, is put into the game late. In fact it's the bottom of the 10th inning. The rest of my bullpen is a bit tired, so I want him to go for one, maybe two innings.
Cataldo comes into the game. He gives up a single to the first batter and then walks the second batter to put the winning run at second with nobody out. I go to visit the mound. He says, "I'm not even close to being tired." My thought is, "I know that, numb nut. I'm here to calm you down and talk strategy, not talk about the state of your arm." Suggestion: Include situational mound visits. I know when my pitchers are tired or tiring. I don't always visit the mound for that purpose. In fact, I would say I visit the mound mostly for letting my pitcher calm down and thinking about what the strategy is going into the next batter. Example of my suggestion: Press "b - Visit Mound" Pop up - "Why are you visiting the mound?" a - Check pitcher's fatigue b - Calm down pitcher c - Talk strategy d - All of the above What do you think? Any other ideas related to this feature?

I think this is a great idea. I have thought for a while that the visit mound feature should be expanded upon

Agreed. Do you know if visiting the mound does, in fact, have any effect in game?

Definitely agreed. I monitor pitch counts and times through the lineup closely when playing out games, so the mound visit feature, if only for checking fatigue, is pretty useless. However, adding this feature in would be excellent.
