Real lineups question
Do you think it's best to use the "allow starters as relief pitchers" feature when using real lineups?
Since OOTP is going to set a rotation and bullpen based on ratings/usage, etc., but the game is going to choose the actual starting pitcher, we know that starter will at times come from the bullpen. When that occurs, that team will be short staffed bullpen wise if starting pitcher are locked out of the occasional relief appearance. I'm playing 1954 and almost every starter in the league had a few relief appearances during the year along with their starts. |

How many relief pitchers do teams carry? Correct me if I am wrong but I do not believe teams used very many relief pitchers in a game in 1954. Usually 1 or 2?
I probably would not allow starters, the 4 or 5 in the rotation, to be used as relief. I like seeing all my relief pitchers get at least a few innings. I would not like to see a dominant starter also become a dominant relief pitcher. Just my opinion. |

Looks like the game takes care of this on its own and there is no need to change to allow starting pitchers to relieve.
