Any game mechanic issues with lowering age?
Say I start a normal game, and a player in their prime, 28 or so, 5 stars, etc.
If I lower them to 20 years old, what issues would I encounter going forward? |

It should just return him to developing like a 20-year-old. Most of the ratings won't go up by too much if he's already hit or exceeded his potential, although if they're lagging behind in one or more categories that'll fill out and improve his overall skill level. He'll retire around the same listed age, i.e. he'll probably have 15 or so years left instead of 7 or 8.
Contract status, when it expires, may act a little oddly if he's in the NHL, since he'll have an impossible combination of age and NHL years. Other than that, he should be relatively normal. |
