Game slow down a lot after about 1 hour
Hi,
It's me or the game tend to slow down a lot after about 1-2 hours of gameplay? Everything in the interface become sluggish until I close and reopen the game. |

No, I run it a lot longer than that without seeing much of a slowdown. The first thing I'd suspect in a situation like that is an antivirus program aggressively checkiing all the writing the game does to the disk, you may need to check your AV's settings to make sure fhm.exe is whitelisted from that kind of monitoring.
If it's not that, it could be an unusually large game file - is this a save you just started recently, or have been playing for a while? |

It's a standard game with 2 teams added in the NHL and the AHL, I'm in 2027.
I'm on a pretty fresh Windows 10 installation with the Microsoft AV. I5-7600k with 16gb of ram, with the game installed on a SSD. The performances issue seems to be when I'm doing a lot of back and forth in screens, during the draft or the free agent signing for example. I will try to take a look if the performances issue always happen at the same time. |

Yeah, a system like that shouldn't be having any trouble with the game even 10 years in. It might be worth uploading the save (instructions here) for us to have a look at, just in case there's something unusual going on in it.

I have an idea what that might be. We will look into it and I will report back!

Any update here? Kinda annoying to have to reload the game all the time because it slows down for some reason.

I don't think we were able to replicate the problem. Is the interface acting sluggish for you as described in the original post here, or is it more of a general slowdown in the processing speed?

The interface (general flow of the game feel) starts lighting fast and with time the interface starts acting more and more sluggish so I eventually just exit the game and reload the file (rinse and repeat every 30m-1hr)
I'm running the game in windowed mode. I'm currently playing retro mode so barely any leagues ,etc. Plus, I don't think it's related to the leagues and such. Nor is related tot the AV. I'm running w10, no addtional AV software. Feels like a cache file or whatever is being overloaded and needs dumping from time to time. |

Can you upload the save? I'd like to see if there's anything odd happening in it that could account for that.

Nothing odd about the save, it's using an appropriate amount of memory and not behaving unusually when I run it. The only slightly unusual thing about the save is using player portraits instead of facegen/uniforms, but that's not that uncommon and I haven't had any reports of slowdowns associated with it. Still, I'll see if something could be going wrong there. And what are your system specs besides Windows 10 (processor/memory/video card)?

We may have found a potential source for problem, doing some more testing now to verify it. It's not exactly the cause Sebastian mentioned suspecting earlier, but something similar, a UI thing that's technically being done correctly but may be leading to an unanticipated side-effect.
