Thank you for everyone doing potential expansion team uniforms. But what happens if the two expansion teams are the El Paso Raccoons and the Portland Cossacks? In one of my projections beyond this season the league expanded by two teams after this 2022 year and the game AI chose the El Paso Raccoons and the Portland Cossacks. I don't know what others have discovered with the game AI regarding expansion teams.
I don't think that my preference for expansion by two teams would be those two, but that is what game AI thought in that one scenario. I certainly would at least go into commissioner mode and make some changes since the AI feels that the next expansion with 16 teams in each league will feature three divisions in each league with 5 teams, 5 teams, and 6 teams. I would revise that to four divisions in each league with 4 teams per division. |

I am doing this exact thing in my league after the current season I am running (2023) ... adding a South Division to each league where the new expansion teams will be ... it also involves moving the Tampa Bay Rays to the NL and the San Diego Padres to the AL ... new teams in Oklahoma City and New Orleans ...

To me, the two most plausible expansion teams' would be Portland & Charlotte. I am nostalgic for a Montreal franchise, but speaking from a divisional makeup that makes sense geographically, these two make the most sense to me.
Basically the Rockies would move to the AL South (a move I am not wild about but I think it's the best scenario still) while the Rays would move to the NL South. The NL South would also get Charlotte as an expansion team, while Portland would go to the AL West. In this scenario you have 32 teams with 4 divisions of four in each league. I myself like the idea of no wildcards and division winners are in the playoffs....but we all know there is no way that's ever going to happen. |

Move Colorado to the AL West, Pittsburgh to the NL East, and either Detroit or Cleveland to the AL East. Your AL South is Texas, Houston, Baltimore, Tampa Bay. Your NL South is Atlanta, Miami, Washington, and the Expansion team.

I think Nashville has the most legit chance to get an expansion team, which probably stops Charlotte from being in consideration for the time being. Portland, San antonio and Austin are the most likely 2nd teams in my opinion. Montreal and Las Vegas are going to be considered as well depending on what happens with the A's and Rays situations. New Orleans seems ideal, but it doesn't seem minor league ball has been successful there

As for realignment, OOTP is never going to do realignment on its own - it just adds teams to whatever division it likes. You'll have to set it up how you like somewhat manually, using the "Edit League Structure" page in the league settings. When you do switch to a 4x4 setup, make sure you find a schedule that makes sense for your setup in the schedules forum. The only other piece of advice I have is that if you're going to a 4x4 setup, the current locations of teams are very well set up to put an AL team on the west coast and an NL team out east. |

Ruwisc
Thanks for that advice for those setting up their leagues after some expansion along with your nice uniforms. One other thing I noticed when the OOTP23 AI called for expansion--they allowed each of the existing teams to protect 25 guys. The "Raccoons" and "Cossacks" will probably each struggle to win 20% of their games under that condition. I would suggest editing the draft protection rules so that each of the existing teams can only protect 18 fellows. Eighteen protected players would be closer to the historic norms. One more thing Ruwisc-- Is it at all possible that you could add some number to the back of your jerseys? I like the looks of jerseys with a number on the back that some creators have made since the game default blank uniform backs appear all too 1890s to me. Getting the numbers properly sized (not too big, not too small) and placed (not too high, not too low) would likely require some experimentation on your part. It really takes playing some manual games with jersey numbers to see how they look sized and placed--I would be willing to volunteer as a tester since I love playing manual games and like putting the results on YouTube. (Maybe experiment with the "Beavers" and "Blackbirds" jersey backs with numbers since my expansion to Portland and El Paso is ready for the expansion draft?) Since my game AI wanted to expand into Portland and El Paso for 2023 I decided to do what was necessary to have that happen.
I did use Ruwisc's logos, ballcaps, and jerseys of the Beavers and Blackbirds and set up an exhibition game between the two expansion teams. I set a number of camera angles close to the player model so Ruwisc's uniforms are visible. I placed the game on YouTube (the details of my expansion and the resulting 2023 league setups are expained in the YouTube description): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnMk...el=kcstengelsr Thanks to Ruwisc for the expansion uniforms. Also, thanks to eriqjaffe for the real existing El Paso ballpark. |

Has anyone taken a stab at the Nashville Stars uniforms with the new uniform format by chance?

I am in the process of updating everything in this thread to the new uniform template - I will probably be able to have that done not long after my school year ends (I am a high school teacher so things are quite busy at the moment, lol)

Sorry for the multi-month bump, but I love the Cherries set you have - I looked at it and wanted to add the team to a fictional league I was doing, but I had the idea for the Cherries team being in Minneapolis, due to the Cherry sculpture that's near the art museum. I was wondering if it was possible to make an alt that has it just be the Cherries name without any of the Newark stuff in it, and/or a quick re-design of the word art/logo art for Minneapolis instead of Newark?
I realize this may be too much of a request; let me know if you have any questions.
