Live Angels complete! That's a nice Simmons card there, except that the half with the bat is missing.

The Hrabosky at 150 is an open auction. I won't bid it. Whales only BIN for the most part. |

Listing Hrabosky and Gibson for 150K, trying to fake demand at that silly price, then pulling them down and re-listing one for 140K doesn't fool anyone. We know they didn't sell. We have a watchlist. It doesn't make 140K look cheap. It is still way over-priced and it won't sell. Good luck, buddy.

After looking for the best part of a week for a specific, useless 60 rated bronze worth an average of 50CC without any success, the cruel gods of OOTP let me pull him in a pack on my second account. Thanks lads, just going to put my head through this wall over here...

^ ha! I've had much the same luck. My second account has had way better pack luck than my main and has finally made it up to perfect, is really almost better despite being FTP vs. my main where I've probably spent like $200 on points...
But damn! I finished the live Jays mission and pulled a 100 Future Legend Vlad Jr. How appropriate! |

You are lucky to have even seen a Freehan recently. Probably refreshed over 1000 times this weekend and not one showed up.
Probably my mistake for even starting this assuming there was a plan to fix the glaring bottleneck problem. Maybe if tournaments ever get here but I'm afraid there will just be more crappy SEs Last edited by dkgo; 11-04-2019 at 12:44 PM. |

My hope is that tournaments will provide not only a different way to build a team, but also inject more cards into the market and alleviate bottlenecks to some extent.

Same. Its exhausting. And as someone mentioned earlier, its not just impossible for people trying to do missions. Freehan was a nice target as a platoon catcher vs LHP at the mid diamond level and now he is removed as a card to actually play the game with. Sucks for everyone but the people lucky enough to already have him.

After waiting nearly 2 months I've finally found a Diamond Jimmie Foxx on the AH to complete the A's Collection. Hurts to lock a card for 40k I'll never use, but that's the way it goes. Eddie Joost might have been cheaper, but I haven't seen him since September. Rube Waddell slots in as my #1 pitcher.
My other two teams need to finish their major collection projects in which they're also waiting on bottleneck pieces. After that I'll likely stop collecting and just go for straight upgrades on the market, and/or packs. I've gotten mission-weary. |

The solution to the bottleneck problem is to lock the reward cards, not the cards needed to complete the mission. That way, only people who want the reward card will work to complete it, instead of using the missions as a profit center. More cards available, less demand for the same cards equals no bottleneck.

Yeah, you could police that. But I want the devs to spend less time on policing and more on improving the game. |

That's definitely not the answer. Then all the rewards are basically free and everyone would be rolling out walsh/smoltz/waddell
The solution is to not require specific cards for anything |

Maybe instead of collections, just have stats based missions linked to the collections? So instead of having to collect those 14 players, you need to get a certain amount of hits/homers/wins etc with those 14 players? Then the more you have, the quicker you will manage it, the better ones you have, the less your team will suffer etc etc. That way no cards are essential, but all help

That would be cool
I was just checking around the manager rankings by completed missions. Assuming the data is right: At the silver levels there are 157 pages of managers and only 13 pages worth have finished more than 5. Only 28 pages have done 1. That means 82% of players in silver have not touched collections. At gold there are 102 pages of managers. 17 pages have done more than 5, 29 have done at least 1. So over 70% of players haven't touched them. At diamond over 60% have 0 completed. At bronze 95% have 0 completed but I assume most of those teams are long abandoned. Clearly they are not resonating with the vast majority of the player base as-is. |

Even many silver and gold teams might be abandoned. Who plays a game for seven months these days? Don't draw conclusions from the hardened bunch in this place here; if you look at the signatures, you hardly find a team in the lower half of the pyramid. Everybody here is active, and even with no luck and no shrewd market transactions, you can get a team to diamond and do missions. But if you never log into PT, you also don't come here.
