Gagne's line so far: 32 IP, 1 ER, 25/25 SV, 0.78 WHIP, 1.66 FIP

Wow!

I like 100 Seaver/99 W. Johnson/99 Clarkson/98 Sutton/100 Mathewson for a starting rotation; all have been mentioned in this thread and all are great without being elitist of the elite. I lack Mathewson but can agree with other posters that the other 4 are all good and can be had for 100-140k.

Perfect 2019 All-Stars Sherzer looks a little undervalued going for 60-80k at current AH listing, haven't used it but it's not a bad card at 113/69/78, comparable to SE Johan Santana 113/67/83 which goes for 100k (I'm not the seller of either of these btw). Both of these cards are comparable to 98 Spahn which is currently my 5th starter until I can fund Mathewson.

How is Spahn performing for you? I was looking at him to be a swing starter/reliever.

Performed better in the bullpen last season but I moved him to SP this season, and he's been slow to catch on there. Moved him from the bullpen because his stuff only went up 2 points there and 98 Hubbell's improves 14 points as a RP, so just swapped their roles this season.

Small sample size so no need to hop off the train yet.

Spahn has been a stud for me. I keep upgrading my pitching staff, and I keep almost dropping him from the rotation, but I never do because he keeps lighting it up--2-time Pitcher of the Year in Perfect (2028 and 2032), and off to another great start this year.

Here's how Spahn finished up as SP this season. Not terribly spectacular but not terribly terrible either.

San Diego and Louisville are in the same league again this week. I hope to see you in the finals. Good luck!

I don't think I will make it out of my conference with Exeter and Budapest both playing so well. I have some players that are due for a big second half though.

The NC does look more stacked than the AC for sure. I would friend you but I don't want to be in the same league as you every week. Your starting pitching is too good.

Did you have Sutter before this thread?

Yes, I did. I started with the 89 Sutter and he was solid. I upgraded and the diamond is still really good and probably more consistent.

Willie Wells (98) has beaten out Honus Wagner (100) at shortstop on my team this season. His slash line is .324/.380/.419 in 250 PA and he has a +1.6 ZR. He is rated 97 at short, and can train to the 90's at both 2B and 3B. He has pretty decent speed too.

Wells would be a great choice at SS or as a utility infielder. He currently goes for 70,000 points and I have seen him as low as 55K.

You and I are tied for best record in 410 Orcin... Good luck.

Wells is very good. I go back and forth with him and Jackie Robinson.

Since this thread has expanded beyond pitchers, I'll throw in a recommendation of the special edition 99 Appling. Trains up to 90 at 2B, and if there's a middle infielder better at getting on base vs. both LHP and RHP, I'd like to see it. Not cheap, but he led my offense that includes many perfects in WAR. Got him for 90K a few weeks ago, and he's easily been worth twice that.
