Historical Sim Questions

Hello all,
I'm sure there is a topic on this, but I couldn't locate anything specific. I am looking at getting back in to OOTP...haven't played since 2016 or so. It looks like the game has changed significantly. What I would like to do is replay the seasons since 1871 (not fictional players). I essentially want to create my own altered history of baseball. My question is, do I have to account for such things as expansion/team movement on my own or will the game add that in for me?

I don't want to mess with trades, I essentially want to keep players where they were, but see how things play out. For example, Babe Ruth going to the Yankees from the Red Sox...will I have to make that trade manually or is it handled by the program?

Will minor leagues/feeder leagues form as they did or will I have to account for that as well?

I am looking at replaying the seasons up until the current season. When I get to the current season, can I add in the NCAA as a feeder system?

I have never done a historical sim before. Will stats be based on ratings? For example, let's say a guy only played a season or 2 and then either suffered an injury or fizzled out. Is there a potential for the player to actually play multiple productive seasons, kind of a what if type of scenario?

Sorry for all of the questions. Just really interested in this project and wanted to see how much or little I have to do. Thanks so much in advance for your help on this.

1. The team are kind of there but you will have to do some moving and renaming. The team progression isn't real, by exemple from 1871 through 1874 the White Stockings will became the Mansfields and the Marylands and finally the White Stockings again.

2. The trade works starting in 1872 as long as you have the correct teams id (just be sure to check "prevent all rooster move" for all teams before the season end in 1871 as the transaction database start in january 72 (after you can uncheck it again).

3. the affiliated minor league begin in 1919 with the Texas League (Federal League is the first one in 1914), just make sure to select "import minor league" when you create your game.

4. No idea

5. Depend if you use "recalc player rating" or not
