Feeder League Question

Is there any way to create one feeder league used by two major leagues?

I am trying to set up a competing major league with MLB but want the same colleges/high schools to feed them both.

Is this possible? How?

you could use the association feature and share the draft pool

Yes, you have to create the world first with both of your major leagues, feeders, minors, etc. Once you're all set up and start the game, but before you advance to the next day, you can create an association.

Goto the Game Menu and click on Create League Association. There's a wizard that walks you through the process. In there, there's an option for all major leagues to share a draft pool. You'll want to make sure that's checked for what you want to do.

To clarify, I believe that you can create an association at any time. However, it's much easier to do it at game creation. Unless, of course, part of your universe's narrative is that an association comes into being at a later time. If you go that route, it's best (if not necessary) to do it during the offseason for all leagues involved.

On a side note you "can't "have minor leagues In league Association however there is a workaround. in my world I have 16 AAA leagues each league is nation base so what I did is before I made them into a minor-league I had them as independent leagues put them all in a league association then went back and set them as minor leagues and affiliated each team with a major league club and they're still in league association together even though they are minor-leagues

Thanks guys. Very helpful!

I am trying to create a MLB world with full minors along with a competing pro baseball upstart in New England with only 6 teams to start.

I want players from either league to become free agents for each other, and one college baseball and highschool baseball feeder system for both.

Lower tier talent and "career minor leaguers" may opt for the new league, given salaries would be much higher than the piddly MiLB salaries. However, they would be MUCH lower -- like less than 100k for a top player, than MLB. Season would also only be 81 games, and attendance would average AA or AAA

Am I on the right page?

hmmm. The more I look at this it seems like the association means the two leagues draft at the same time.

Is there any way to make the MLB draft before the other pro league draft so that only the remaining players in the pool are available for the less prestigious league?

Also, same question for the initial draft.

Sounds like you are on the right page. You may be right about being forced to have all leagues in the association draft on the same day- that makes sense. One way to deal with that is by setting the Indy league's reputation much lower than that of your premier league. Perhaps 5 to your main league's 10.

Have you tried adjusting the dates in league setup?

I'll try that tonight.

Sorry for all the novice questions. This is my first dynasty and I wanted to follow a few players up the ranks.

My only other OOTP experience is online.

No need to apologize we were all in the same position you were at one time as a matter-of-fact there still a lot of stuff I don't know and you'll see me constantly asking questions about how to do something. the thing is this game has so many features it's very difficult to know about all of them

Maybe I should:

-Start MLB in 2015 and sim one season
-Add New England Pro League in 2016

That way, the inaugural draft does not include teams from both leagues, and it is really just the Free Agents that populate NEPL to start?

Not sure what happens come ammy draft time. I would prefer to MLB to have a draft in June like normal then the second pro league to have access to the remaining pool for THEIR draft.

Also would like free agents to sign with either league after the first year.
