What its like to literally be the God of Baseball

I believe I am a unique ootp player. You could call me a commissioner, sure. But I don't think Rob Manfred has the power to make Nolan Arenado a beast. The Year is 2035...

7 years have passed since Arenado's retirement in 2028. For some reason, he is a first-ballot HOF but in the 2035 class. I can't explain why it did that, but I'm sure it was my fault screwing with the HOF votes.
4x MVP, 6x batting champ, and he never once failed to win a gold glove. Even with the Mile High argument, Arenado is still an all-time great, no cap. At the time of his retirement, he was widely considered the greatest defensive player of all time. Commissioner Terry Francona decided to name a new award after Arenado, given to the best defensive player in each respective league.

He was 36 when he finally, with help of a ridiculous season by Aaron Judge (51 HR in only 111 games, 2027, his first season since departing the Yanks, was a renaissance season for Judge who was 35) and a great postseason by Trent Deveaux (we will get to him later), led Colorado to their first World Series victory in 2027 over the heavily favored Seattle Mariners. But is Arenado really the greatest player EVER in this universe? Not exactly. Not quite as impressive as Ted or Babe or Stan or Hank or... Miggy?

The all-time hits king is Miguel Cabrera. He'll be the topic for my next post. For now, just soak in how great of a career Arenado had.

Curious what caused his retirement? Was it injury related?
