Import League Structure
I took an existing league and exported the league structure. It creates a XML file with all of the team names, etc.
How do I create a new fictional league with this structure? Is that even possible? I cannot find anything about "import league structure" in the manual. |

IIRC, there is no way of re-importing the structure from the XML. You can get rid of all the players and then save the league as a template, though.

i know for sure on the database settings page or "all functions" in the drop-down box does not show an import world structure.
however, i thought while poking around "explore world" i may have saw something about it. worth checking out, but don't get your hopes up. edit: ugh i don't think this is what you are looking for... if you want the players transferred, read below: otherwise just a game creation template would have saved teh structure and setup, i believe, of any game before it is created. you'll have to do the structure by hand, if not. ----- you can accomplish what you want, and you can even change the year, if you don't care much about current coaches (can't change their year of birth from exported files). setup teh new league in that image, or hopefully you saved a template before creating the game. you must re-use playerid and teamid #s. make sure # of teams is correct (or make extra teams free agents with teamid in export) and quantity of players match up for easier work. the # of players is easily adjusted with "create X players" and deleting can be just as easy using filters so you can use the "select all" tick box at top if it's a large # then hand clicking the last few to get the desired #. so you'll need exports from each - the old league and the destination league. copy over playerid's and re-import the new league. if you change the year, you'll have to edit the yob column too. simply make a "=a2 (+/-) X" years in a new column outside the exported data, fill that equation down for all rows of players, then copy/paste those values over old year of birth column. you'll have to rinse and repeat to copy over stats and league history. whatever is not exportable/importable will be lost. you can easily start fresh by skipping history and stats, then deleting all of it in game to be sure. if you change the year, all your coaches age's will be messed up. fill teams with coachs and make some extra ones as FA (# of unemployed coaches/scouts/doctors in your current league will give a good idea of how many you should create) tips: use column header on exports. remove all "//" lines (comments) before importing to a spreadsheet. What then is the point of "export league structure" if you cannot import it somehow or even use it to replace files for the structure you want?
