Two Gerrie Coetzees

Yesterday I watched Gerrie Coetzee vs. Mike Weaver (1980) and Michael Dokes (1983). Today it was Coetzee in his second go-round with Mike Schutte (who looked a bit like a young Dan Blocker of Bonanza) in 1977. It struck me part way through that this was a completely different fighter from the Coetzee who KO'd Leon Spinks and went on to 3 shots at the WBA title.

The "post-Leon" Coetzee was a pure one-armed slugger like a modern Max Baer but with serious stamina problems, using his left jab as a range-finder for a looping overhand right.

The pre-prime(?) Coetzee of 1977 was a fairly agile boxer-puncher, moving side to side on his toes, using a good straight left and combinations. In close he had a decent left hook, uppercuts and a short right cross, along with the overhand right. (Seemed like Schutte absorbed a hundred right hands without going down or even seriously stumbling)

Is it possible to emulate these two versions in one fighter?

If you created ratings for different stages of his career then yes.

Guess you couldn't use Career Adjustment then?

You wouldn't need to. Create a second rating at prime, and make the validity date 1979-07
That way it would be effective after the Spinks bout

That would adjust particular ratings and effect the overall rating, but would not alter his style or 2/3-point punches for two different types as you described.

OK. So right now I have 1 Gerrie Coetzee who has two ratings: Pre-Prime and Default Rating Record. [I'm using Career adjustment for all fighters] So I'd have to create another PRIME rating with a new validity date of 1979-07. How would this work out exactly? I'm guessing I'd have to go in and select the new rating to use that version.

I would not use the career stage adjustment to create a pre prime
the game will create these ratings automatically
What I'm talking about is creating 2 ratings at prime
You can change which of these you want to use as default the pre or the post Leon
