Question about expansion teams and minor league teams

I was curious about something. When you decide to do a manual expansion on an existing league with full minors (MLB) - do the expansion teams get "assigned" minor league affiliates or do you also need to create farm teams for the expansion clubs?

So if I expanded 2 more teams, would I also need to make at least 4 minor league teams for each new franchise or would the game handle that?

They automatically get assigned minor league clubs.

I have a question about this. I will be expanding after I simulate the 2009 season, adding two teams. I able to add their rookie league affiliates before the team starts play, keeping them unaffiliated, I know that much. My question is with the new supplemental rounds whether or not I will be able to edit the draft order so my new teams will have a few picks the first year, like what happens in real life. The 98 and 93 expansion teams had this advantage.

Okay, let me see if I got this right...

You're going to play out 2009 with the future expansion teams' minor league affiliates already playing. You want to give the future expansion teams draft picks in 2009 to start building their organization up, then bring them in normally after the season?

If so... I don't think you can do that with the picks.

I didn't figure it would be possible. I think it would be nice if we could have the game know that you are going to expand a year from now, so you could draft for a year before. In real life, teams get to draft for a year or two and have rookie teams playing, so they have a minor league system in place when they first begin major league play.

I have another question, hate to be a pest but want to get this right. Where do the expansion teams draft in June of their first year, since it's based on previous year's records, and I am also wondering if the supplemental rounds are editable, as in how many selections there are and who receives the picks. This way I can have draft pick compensation to my liking and also sneak an extra selection to each new team. Anybody know if that is doable?

They pick one and two, IIRC. I don't know if supplemental rounds are editable since I haven't had a draft yet, but it would really surprise me if they weren't.
