San Jose Churros (SF Seals/AAA)
I posted these a while back in another thread, so I'll repost them here where they belong. The San Jose Churros are the alt brand the San Jose Giants use for Copa de la Diversion. It celebrates the fabulous homemade churros made by Hipolito and his family in the little tent by the bullpen... if I had to pick one single thing I miss this summer, it's churros in San Jose!
Some of the pieces here are cribbed from the SFGiants "Defunct Project" at sportslogos.net a couple of guys have turned into unis here, specifically the SJ skyline logo and the away script.

Phoenix Crotalos
SFGiants58 made a "Phoenix Snakes" set that at least one of the guys turned into unis. He also made a "Crotalos" wordmark, which is Spanish (and Italian, btw) for rattlesnake. I liked the idea, so I made that into the Phoenix SWL AAA team.

Bonus Coverage: Atlantic Coast Association (AAA)
For the MLB's AAA leagues, I'd think the International League would have carried on, and the American Association would have joined with them. So I combined them into the Atlantic Coast Association.
These teams mostly use existing logos/unis, but I've grabbed a few out of the SFGiants58 conversion threads, and I'll link those here: International League North Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (PHI) Rochester Red Wings (WAS) Scranton WB Rail Riders (NYY) Buffalo Bisons (TOR) Syracuse Chiefs (BKN) IL South Miami Marlins (BOS) Charlotte Knights (CHW) Norfolk Tides (BAL) Atlanta Firebirds (MIL) San Juan Expos (MON) American Association North Columbus Clippers (CLE) Indianapolis Arrows (PIT) Toledo Mud Hens (DET) Iowa Cubs (CHC) St. Paul Saints (MIN) AA South Nashville Sounds (DAL) Louisville Bats (CIN) Memphis Redbirds (STL) Omaha Storm Chasers (KC) New Orleans Zephyrs (HOU)

Expansion!
I decided to start actually playing this save, and wanted to add more teams. So, two expansion drafts later and boom! 36 teams. This is what the North American Association looks like after expansion:
Also, since so many of these teams would have kept their city's minor league mascot/colors, I decided it made more sense to have the Kansas City Blues instead of the Royals. There's a set from the SFGiants58 concept here. MLB EXPANSION TEAMS: AL East: Florida Flamingos (in Tampa) AL West: Nashville Rock Cats NL East: Atlanta Firebirds NL West: New Orleans Crawdads PCL EXPANSION TEAMS: PCL North: Calgary Mounties (see below) PCL South: Phoenix Crotalos (see above) Several of these elevations require backfilling at AAA, and I've tinkered around with various minor teams and intend to eventually post those new alignments if anyone is interested. I stuck mostly to extant minor league teams but needed to make a few additions here and there.

Calgary Mounties
Based on an alternate for Vancouver's NWL team that looked fantastic when I saw it live. I'm not crazy about the script I found but I think it's passable.

Edmonton Capitals (AAA): Nothing earth-shattering but I couldn't find sets around here, probably lost in the Great Photobucket Massacree.

Never too late, thanks! And thanks for being a part of what made it possible for rookies like me to crank this stuff out!

Lodi Crushers (A+/CAL): This was a team for a few years, and like a lot of defunct minor/indy teams not much seems to be left online except their (meh) main logo. So, I cheated with Isedelyod's Lake Erie set. The logos on the jersey and cap are small enough that they can pass, and it was easy to delete the "E" from the logos, which are pretty cool. When my dad decided to stop picking/crushing grapes to make wine we used to go to Lodi for the juice, so IMO it works pretty well. One of the better additions available to the California League if you want to expand it, Lodi had a franchise for quite a few years.
(the logo looks better small, you can use the same for primary and secondary) All the other CGY affiliates are around the boards I think or loaded into the game. My graphics files are all mixed up so I can't tell what came with the game originally and what I added. The AirHogs and Bells are certainly around.

New Orleans affiliates
Again most of these should either already be in the game or around the boards, except for Shreveport. Here again the internet seems to be forgetting, it seems like there were a ton of logos around for these guys, and I imagine some are or were available here. Anyway the logos and home set look pretty good, and even though minor league road unis never show in the game I made a couple of alts. The "Captains" wordmark is so cool I didn't bother looking for "Shreveport", which probably wouldn't have fit anyway. Apologies to Bossier City, no offense meant!

Florida and Nashville affiliates
Almost all of these are repurposed and either in the game or available around. I often want to add a Wilmington team to the Carolina League so I made unis from a wood bat team.
Wilmington Sharks (A+/NSH):

The real Canadian heresy in this thread is making Edmonton an affiliate of Calgary. I'd rather never see live baseball again that cheer for a Calgary organization
Great work throughout! Absolutely love this stuff. |
