I saw Jason Giambi had the single season record for OPS and made the Hall of Fame with 95.7%. Could you post his stats?

Here is Jason Giambi. A great career, but I don't think one of the very greatest ever. If he got 95.7%, it might be because of the otherworldly 1999.

Here you go.

Nolan Ryan had three no-hitters. No one else had moe than two.

Johnny VanderMeer had one, during the war.

Mickey Lolich had TWO perfect games. I've met him a few times, so I wish I could have shown him this.

Compare that to his stat line in this simulation:

Geggus is second in career wins after Walter Johnson and 12th in career ERA, with the best ERA for anyone with a career as long as his.

He was clearly the best 19th Century pitcher in this sim. I wonder whether it would have been called the "Buck Geggus Award"?
I have also had Charlie "Buck" Geggus be a star in one of my leagues. I like the "What if" you have run. I do the same kind of thing.

It must have been when he was cowed by his significant others' significant udders!

For some reason Nolan Ryan didn't import into my game. I have it deleting people that don't reach the majors, but I didn't have a minors for him to get hurt in. So, either it missed him (unlikely) or he somehow flamed out sitting on the reserve roster.

Weird.

That's one of the things I love about replaying history.

I love the 1984 all Canadian World Series! I wonder if the media revenue went down the next year for all clubs.

Can someone PM me any sticky on how to run a historic sim? I seem to mess something up. Starting in 1871... It seems to never expand properly as I go season by season.

Teams that should go out of business do not, and new teams don't appear.

Also the league structures do not match with what they should...

i must be missing something.

I was told once that the historical evolution only worked if you started in 1901 or later... though that doesn't seem to be the case here.

It does work. I started in 181 and currently in 1970. Babe Ruth started as a pitcher etc. All the former teams moved to where they were to move too. And expansion did happen when it really did in the past.

Charlie Geggus did not pan out as well in my universe.

What's that 2000 season look like for Chipper Jones outside of the 282 (?!?!) hits. That's awesome.

The Royals didn't do so great. They came in worse than the real life 1962 Mets, and ended up winning only one World Series in their first 82 seasons.

As for your players, not one of them spent even a single second with the Royals. I'm sorry for that. George Brett and Bret Saberhagen were both Hall of Famers. I will post all their records here when I can later.

If you're a Chipper Jones fan, you're in luck, because he ended up as the fifth greatest non-pitcher by WAR in history, trailing only A-Rod, Wille, Lou and Barry.

Here are all those real-life Royals players and how they did in my sim.

Did you know George Brett's nickname was "Mullet"? I didn't.
