Why were people attacking Merlin though?

He is trying to help "out" the guy from what I can tell. I think if he could better articulate himself in English that would be more apparent and people just got confused.

I mean Merlin was the one that started the thread about this guy trying to steal licences! http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...5&pagenumber=1

I know.... I'm not sure where the idea came along that Merlin was one of the bad guys, but I think you guys who believe it are dead wrong.

I don't know. If Merlin had so much trouble with this guy (yes, I read about it when it 1st happened), why would he stay in the guy's league after all the trouble he had with him?? Doesn't make sense to me. I'm not saying yes or no that he's in on it too, I'm just puzzled why he would keep with the guy.

That being said.... commish's usually make damn fine GMs
This is quite true, but its one thing to be good and another to cheat...

Why someone would devote that much time and effort into runing a league and still want to cheat... it seems to me to be a massive waste of time. I mean come on - there much be much more effective ways to build self-confidence or to assure the reflection looking back that the manhood is bigger than it is than by cheating in an online league....

Again, I say this to all owners or potential owners - before joining a damn league make sure you check the thing out first, talk to a few owners in it and research the damn commish.

I believe the reason why Merlin was "attacked" was that his info wasn't quite checking out. In his initial posts, he was throwing out some wild stuff, including that he didn't notice some of his guys being traded.

That sort of stuff throws up a red flag. Of course, he has checked out. But, initially, I know I did raise an eyebrow at a few things he wrote.

So be it.

Is it just me, or has the league site entirely vanished?

The webspace provider booted the league because he didn't want to be associated with this sort of thing.

And back to Merlin again I just think he isn't expressing himself properly and could probably explain himself more to our satisfaction if english was his first language. I just can't see why an ally/alias of this guy would be the one to out him for the order id thing and start this controversy.

I figured it was the commish who deleted all of the pages after he saw this thread. That's why I made the smart-ass comment. I was hoping for some kind of cover-up scandal, but I suppose his provider booting him is OK too.

no way this comes close to hornsmaniac...he's like the babe ruth of cheaters...

the hornsmaniac thing spanned like 3 different sites (at least), countless threads...two different leagues...there were coverups, an attempted, but ultimately unsuccesful coup d'etat, kevin from dell, etc etc...

I thought he could have given horns a run for his title until you reminded me of the coup attempt. Horns is definitely in a class by himself but this one is a worthy pupil.

well...the jblaze vs. bballer 'argument' certainly makes a strong case for that fiasco...but there was just something so epic about the horns thing...

everyone is so far off base on yet ANOTHER set of accusations about me that its not even funny, if the site werent already gone I woudl explain everything, but there is just no sense in trying to fight for what really happened if the league is gone. So as far as everything is concerned I will change my ****ing alias, join some leagues and win like every sim I have ever been in. And by the way anyone who thinks different is crazy but I can guaruntee that I am one of the best gm's in the history of online league experience, andyone who wants to put me to the test, step right up.
