Not enough players to create lineup!

I took the job as head coach of Britain, now I'm unable to complete my PtG NHL playoffs. When Britain starts their IIHF tourney, I get a message saying "Not enough players to create lineup" and my team Britain roster is empty.
It won't let me advance in my NHL playoffs, or anything. Stuck on that day.

Update: Got past it. I had to have the AI assign players even though there were no players to assign. Team England was empty but I guess the AI created some characters for me. I have the English hockey leagues disabled. Might have something to do with it.
