Custom Game expansion draft

The expansion draft is messed up. Unless you have a league with 20+ teams, you don't get enough players to have a proper draft. When you do, there's never enough players in any given position. That wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that you have to choose certain positions in certain rounds. You're forced to forfeit picks and come out with less players than you should have.

That's an expansion draft after the first (or later) season, right, not the initial draft? I can see the potential problem there with the really small leagues, we may have to restrict the protected lists a little more with those so there are more players available.

yes, expansion. Part of the problem is requiring specific picks. I can see being forced to choose 2 goaltenders, but after that, it should just be open.

another problem i'm seeing is that when you're asked to submit your protected list, it only pertains to your active roster. Minor leaugers are exempt, and not making it to the expansion draft, making the pool of available players even smaller.
