EUREKA! This is exactly what I was looking for!

I am not a programmer, but I am an Excel-er, so I was able to do exactly what you suggest here:
  • Open .lsdl file in Notepad
  • Copy schedule portion only
  • Paste into Excel
  • Text to columns using this delimiter (input into Other): "
  • Make necessary bulk changes to numbers in schedule
  • Use concatenate function to re-string them together
  • Copy and paste over original schedule in .lsdl file
  • Save file
  • Navigate to League Setup/Edit League Schedule
  • Select Schedule/Clear Schedule
  • Select Schedule/Import from file, select updated file.

Voìla!

BTW, here is the concatenate formula to use (replace with your own appropriate referred cells):

=CONCATENATE("<GAME day=""",N2,""" time=""",O2,""" away=""",P2,""" home=""",Q2,""" />")

The reason this is important to me: I am creating a professional league starting in the 1880s. I need a college feeder league of 16 to 24 year olds, but these guys go to school during the week, so they can play series only on weekends (Friday-Sunday), because most of these guys will go pro in something other than baseball. So I needed to change the original schedule from the game-default 66 games over 70-something days to 66 games played over 22 weekends. This is how I did it! And it took me five, maybe ten minutes from start to finish doing it this way.

And below is how it looks. Perfect!
