WBC JFW title
Former IBO BW champ, Monster Inoue, fought his 1st fight at 122 for one of the titles vs. the unbeaten - Isaac Dogboe.
Monster certainly brought his power up to JFW dropping the champ in both the 2nd & 5th but in the 10th a hard body shot dropped Inoue for a 9 count. Monster recovered and appeared to be power boxing his way to another belt when a combo ended matters at 2:24 of the 14th & the Monster has conquered another weight class. Cards read: 124-121, 125-120 & 127-118 all for Inoue. Isaac now 7-1 with 5 KO's was making his 6th title defense. Special thanks to Ice Tea for updating Inoue's ratings at 122 so quickly! MW unification bout
Uruguay's Amilcar Vidal won both the WBA & IBF titles from Matthew Macklin earlier this year via a UD - 148-134, 148-133 & 146-135.
Vidal dropped the champ 4 times during the fight & made Macklin look old in the process. So Vidal agreed to come to England once again, this time to face the WBC champ - Danny Dignum. Vidal made short work of Danny, ending the fight with a combo at 2:25 of the 1st round. |

JMW title unification
For the 1st time ever, all 5 belts were on the line when Jaime Munguia put his IBO belt up against Chris Pearson & all 4 of his at 154.
In a title fight that really lived up to the billing & worthy of 5 belts, Jaime's youth & power proved to be the difference as he knocked out Chris @ 2:32 of the 14th with a combo. Pearson did well during the fight, dropping Munguia in the 4th with an uppercut for a 3 count & really poured it on in the 5th that had Jaime on the verge of being stopped. But as the fight wore on, Jaime just kept coming, in the 11th the IBO champ sent Chris to the canvas from a strong combo & a 5 count. In the 14th, Jaime dropped Chris again with a hook & another 5 count. Then combos 2 more times until 1 final combo finally ended the fight. Pearson went down 4 times in the 14th alone. The cards reflected what a tough battle it was: Pearson up 123-122 on 2 cards & Jaime up 124-122 on the 3rd. Jaime was up 392 (30%) to 305 (31%) in PL & moves to 15-0 with 14 KO's. Pearson is now 13-2-1 with 6 KO's. |

2 vacant MW titles
Germany's Vincenzo Gualtieri pounded out a UD (147-138, 146-139, 145-140) over Rasheed Abolaji in a rather boring fight that lacked drama to win the vacant IBO belt.
In Canada, Janibek Alimkhanuly looked to be in total control (PL 105 to 34) before a cut to Bruce Lutchmedial stopped the fight at 2:46 in the 3rd with Janibek emerging as the new WBO champ. Thanks to Jackyle for creating my 2 new champs. |

WBO/IBO HW title
WBO HW champ, Kevin Lerena, recently also won the IBO belt via a 15 SD over Steve Cunningham.
Kevin didn't waste any time making his 1st defense against former UFC champ - Francis Ngannou. In the 2nd round Kevin found out the hard way & was dropped for a quick 2 count. From that point forward Kevin was much more leery of the huge MMA star puncher & used his boxing skills to both out work & outpunch Francis on his way to a UD - 144-141 & 145-138 twice. Kevin dropped Francis in the 14th with a hard combo & 6 count. Kevin winning the PL battle 352 (45%) to 165 (13%) as Francis apparently thought winning by KO was his only option - he tried to KO Kevin in virtually every round. Thanks again to Ice Tea for making Francis - this exciting fight rang true as I watched the sim. |

WBC/WBA LW titles
Ireland's Tommy Cleary was having a fighter of the year sort of year in 2023. In January he took the WBA LW belt from Tank Davis when Tank broke his hand 50 seconds into the 5th & quit.
Then in May, Tommy took the WBC title via a 15 MD over Devin Haney - dropping Devin in the 8th for an 8 count from a hard cross. For his 1st unified defense, the DR's Edwin De Los Santos came to Ireland & took the belt home via a 15 MD (141-141 & 142-140 twice). Edwin dropped Cleary in the 12th with a hard upper & 9 count. In the 15th Tommy went for broke dropping Edwin twice - an upper for 9 & a cross for an 8 count. In the end it wasn't enough as Edwin also won the PL battle 359 (29%) to 345 (30%). |

SMW fights
Demetrius Andrade made his debut @ 168 with a 12UD (119-111 & 119-109 twice) over Steve Walker to take the USBA SMW title.
Same for Jermall Charlo who took the NABF SMW belt with an explosive 1st round right cross KO of Robert Baro - 2:32 into the round. And David Benavidez made the 1st defense of his WBC SMW strap with a 13th round O. right KO (2:03) of Portugal's Celso Neves. Neves had gone the distance in his last bout losing to IBF champ, Caleb Plant, making his 4th title defense (147-141, 146-142, 145-142). So David wanted to be more impressive & was by both getting the KO late & domination on the cards - 118-109 & 120-107 twice. David is now 12-0, all KO's. IBO LHW title
Making his 2nd title defense, Dmitry Bivol came in soft for some reason coming to Paris to face Madjid Zaim.
Bivol was less than impressive in his 1st title defense retaining his belt via a Draw against Alexander Johnson. So many wondered why he appeared less toned & not in top shape for this fight? But as they say, appearances can be deceiving as Bivol fought much better than he looked in a dominating performance & 6th round hook KO of Zaim at 2:46 of the round. Bivol up on PL 217 (32%) to 78 (31%) & the cards 49-46 & 48-47 twice. Bivol is now 11-1-1 with 6 KO's. |

WBC LHW title
Looking much sharper than in his last bout, Adonis Stevenson made his 17th title defense with an impressive 9th round TKO of Callum Smith.
Adonis dropped Smith in the 3rd, 7th, 8th & then twice in the 9th when Smith's trainer (Buddy McGirt) threw in the towel ending matters at 2:25 of the round. Adonis was up in PL 258 (33%) to 116 (27%) as well as the cards: 79-71 & 79-70 twice. Adonis is now 19-0 with 17 KO's at 175. When asked if he has any plans to face IBF champ - Artur Beterbiev? Adonis responded: "Oh no, why should I? I was much more impressive stopping Smith & dropped him 5 times!" |

Ibf lhw
Artur Beterbiev came to Paris for his 2nd title defense & a workman like performance came to an abrupt end thanks to a hard left hook from Artur ending the fight & Nadjib Mohammedi's night at the end of the 7th round.
Artur was up on PL 184 (32%) to 122 (18%) & lead on all 3 cards 58-56. Thanks to Ice Tea updating Artur's rating so quickly after his fight on ESPN on Sat night - Artur now a 9. Artur's now 15-0 with 13 KO's. |

WBO JWW title
In a pretty boring fight (just like on ESPN last night) current IBF LW champ (Teofimo Lopez) fought for the 2nd time at 140 & took the title away from Mohamed Mimoune in Paris.
Lopez appeared to be taking control of the fight & dropped the champ for an 8 count in the 13th. Then the ref finally stepped in to stop the fight at 2:25 of the 14th due to cuts over both eyes and a left eye swelling at orange level. Teo was up on PL: 346 (27%) to 265 (20%) & also on the cards, all 3: 125-120 identical. |

IBO JMW title
Fighting for the 1st time since July of 2022, IBO champ Jermell Charlo finally decided to get back into the ring coming to Australia to face rising star - Tim Tszyu.
Neither fighter appeared rusty as the 2 traded hard blows for the 1st 3 rounds with Jermell appearing to have the edge. From the 4th round on, Charlo just appeared to be the faster/better athlete in addition to being the better boxer & slowly beat Tim up forcing the ref to step in at 2:40 of the 11th due to the swelling of Tim's left eye. Tim also had a cut lip & apparently hurt one of his hand as well. Charlo had the PL edge: 335 (41%) to 127 (11%) & all 3 judges had the fight 98-92 for Charlo. It was his 7th title defense & is now 18-1-1 with 5 KOs. Tim's now 8-1 with 6 KO's. |

IBO CW title
Making his 1st title defense since winning the belt last May, Lawrence Okolie appeared to get home cooking in London despite the fact all 3 judges were from the US - including CJ Ross.
France's Arsen Goulamirian appeared in control the entire fight & won the PL battle 354 (34%) to 287 (28%) yet despite all that, all 3 judges had the fight 143-143. |
