Longest hit streak
Just wondering what some of you have put up for hit streaks.
I didn't realize that OOTP allows hit streaks to extend into the next season - I had started a 1919 White Sox team, and to close 1920, Eddie Collins hit in the last 37 games. So far, he's got hits in each of the first 5 games of 1921, and they're counting it as a 42 gamer.
And speaking of 1921, it's going to be a long one I think for my Sox. I lost Cicotte and Williams from my rotation (combined to win 40 games last year), not to mention the 'retirement' of Joe Jackson, Happy Felsch, Buck Weaver and Swede Risberg (all of whom hit .300 for me last year).
In addition, I lost Marty McManus to the Browns as a FA the last week of 1920 - so he, Jackson, and Felsch had all knocked in 100 - how often do you lose 3 100 RBI men - and 5 .300 hitters - in one season. Plus in the offseason, management dealt Nemo Leibold and Shano Collins to Boston for an older Harry Hooper... I know as GM, I would not have made that trade!
Could be a long year!
