paint.net
Create a new file, set the size, click the image using the magic wand, hit shift+Del keys and save it as a png and you now have a transparent image that can be used as a background layer.

If you just want to use an existing image and remove the background (make transparent), just use the magic wand and click what you want to remove and hit shift+del keys. Depending on how close the colors are to the image portion you want to keep, play with the wand's tolerance setting. You can always use ctrl+z to undo unwanted changes or ctrl+y to redo.

Maybe, I'll add it to my list.
Sorry, I meant my request was minor, not that fulfilling it programmatically was.

I don't suppose there is a way to import your cap into the jersey creator and be able to preview your uniform that way?
I don't know about Windows fonts, but there are a few nice one available on the net.

Here's a great source... Fonts by Conrad

You can just use preview in Windows file explorer.

No problem, I did get a chance to look at it and it was not too difficult to add. They'll be an update a little later with a few more goodies.

Once you make the background transparent just export it as a PNG.

Rich click on the layer and select "Add alpha channel". Then cut out the background and export as a PNG.
