The combine is vastly overrated. I hope if it is implemented in BTS, its not a huge indicator of who is going to be a star NFL player. Clowney did less weight bench reps than a punter, but everyone knows is the best all around athlete in this upcoming draft. A few years ago Darius Heyward-Bey was the 7th overall pick because he ran a great 40 time. A long list goes on of guys doing great at the combine but flaming out in the NFL and visa versa.

You've got to remember that the DHB pick was one of the last Al Davis, speed-at-all-costs picks. If memory serves no one expected him to go anywhere near that high, and then Al Davis happened.

i look at the combine as more for scouts and interviewing skills. College games should take at least 90 to 95% of the consideration and personality make up take up the 5% to make sure he fits with the chemistry of the team.

Using it for medical reports & interviews is not that same as putting weight in a glorified workout
