Player Development

I have a question on player development. Has anyone taken the time or experimented with how players progress? Specifically, how does progression happen? Do players develop in a kind of feedback loop in that they get better when they play well? The other option being that they will develop simply by putting in time, playing against opponents who are challenging. Any thoughts?

If you check for threads in most of the previous versions of the game, you will find Markus commenting on 'development curves' and 'random talent bumps' as things we all know are in the game. That said, simply playing guys and giving them good coaching--as in real life--is the way to go.

So the things you suggest are generally as true in the game as in reality.
