What has that to do with fans? Not one of the other 29 teams (not even the Mets!) would be dumb enough to take a poke at #24's contract. Even if the Tigers swallowed half the amount he's owed, that would still leave the other team with $15-16m worth of a constantly aching, average-at-best DH and part-time first baseman. And how's that going to get better the next three, four years? And I actually like the guy, but I wouldn't want any piece of him even vaguely near my team.

...and then there's those $30m vesting options if he finishes in the top 10 in MVP voting in his final guaranteed season.

No fan uprising here. If this team could find anyone to take that contract that would be a huge victory. However, the club made its bed with this one. Cabrera had some deep personal issues that where overlooked by the club and fanbase when he was ultra productive. Now everyone wants to skewer the guy for both his off the field stuff and his lack of production. Though I'm sure the Detroit fanbase is not unique in this regard.

Yeah, I think most fans would actually be happy with dumping Miggy and his salary at this point.

Braves remove Shane Greene from closer's role less than 10 days after acquiring All-Star reliever

Not too much of a shocker there. His pitching for the Braves is more in line with who he is than his pitching for the Tigers this year.

Baltimore and Colorado have had worse starter ERAs since the All-Star break (which I find truly hard to believe).
