Series Preview: MIA Marlins @ Marlins Park (3-Games)

I want to say that we should have no trouble taking a series from this team.
But i know that the Marlins can be scrappy when they play us and this is the truth.
Matz, Wheeler and deGrom will get the starts for this series which i hope, wakes up the Mets batters!

NY METS 2
MIA Marlins 7

We were the April Fools today.
Steven Matz was awful.
He gave up 6 runs on 5 hits and i had to take him out after 2 innings.
Brandon Belt hit his 1st HR of the season in the losing cause.
We had better wake up real soon.
Matz is going to be on a very short leash or i will move him quickly!

We cant win a game versus the lowly Marlins.
Zack Wheeler pitches very well, giving up 1 run on 3 hits.
But he gets no run support as the Mets leave 9 men on base in this game.
Jeurys Familia takes the loss and blows the game in the late innings.
We cant get the runs in at all and we lose a series that i feel that we have no business losing. (Sound familiar, guys?)
We will see if deGrom can get us a win tomorrow.

We do get one win in SoFla.
So far, Jacob deGrom has not been his Cy Young self.
He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits with 6 strikeouts.
But it was Jeurys Familia who gets his 1st win of the season.
Wilson Ramos knocked out his 1st HR of the year.
Robinson Cano was ejected in this game after charging the mound, so he will get two days rest courtesy of Rob Manfred.
Lucky for us, we still have a long season to play.

Series Preview: WAS Nationals @ Citi Field (3-Games)

We finally get to our home opener of the year with a weekend series versus WAS.
We lost a tough series against them to open the year with, so lets see if we can give them some payback.
Bumgarner, Syndergaard and Matz will pitch for the series.

WAS Nationals 0
NY METS 1

The NY Mets open up their home schedule with a close win over the WAS Nationals.
Madison Bumgarner was what i hoped he would be this time.
He only gave up 2 hits and struck out 8.
Justin Wilson picked up a big Hold in the 8th and Edwin Diaz got his 2nd save.
Amed Rosario and Brandon Nimmo did ALL the offense today and Mike Moustakis got the only RBI.
I will give the Golden Bat to Rosario for scoring the only run.
We have the day off tomorrow before playing the 2nd game of this series on Saturday.

WAS Nationals 4
NY METS 1

Just cant get it done.
Noah Syndergaard goes 5 and gives up 4 runs on 8 hits.
The lineup was pretty much kept in check by Stephen Strasburg.
I don't know what is going on but this lineup is not getting the runs we need.
Lets see if we can win this series tomorrow.

A rainout forced this game to be postponed till May.
We have the day off tomorrow until the MIN Twins pay us a visit.
Yep, we host the team that beat us in the World Series last year!

This Week in Baseball---NY METS

Not a good start to the season.
We are dead last in a lot of batting categories.
We average under two runs a game.
Still very early in the year but every game counts.

Where do I find this option?

We have a short series against the team that beat us in the World Series last year.
Still cant believe it!
They are off to a .500 start and we cant score runs even if we try.
We shall see if we can give them a little payback for last year!

We just scored more runs in 1 game than we did in the last 7 games combined.
Steven Matz decided to show up this time and the lineup did what it needed to do and everyone got a hit.
Ill take this win and hopefully, it brings a few more.
