Don Cardwell would not even let my Mets breathe.
We get crushed at Wrigley Field, but we did snap the losing streak in the game before this one.

The Mets split a series with the MIL Braves, the best team in the NL.
We get a 3-0 shutout behind the pitching of Lee Gregory.
Gregory also contributed at the plate as he went 2-3 with an RBI.
This was our 10th win of the year.
Ill take it since it was versus the Braves.

Not much you can do when you face a CHC team with the likes of Ernie Banks, Ron Santo and Lou Brock at the plate.
Plus, Johnny Podres was awful today and I left him in way too long.
Still learning how to play this team of has-beens and wannabees.
We got crushed today.

We lose a heartbreaker here to MIL.
A well pitched game by Sam Jones, but we could not get the big runs in when we needed them.
Course when you play against a team with some nobodies on it, like Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews and Warren Spahn, your chances of winning in 1962 seem to be very small.
Still stuck at 10 wins for the year.
Will I make 40?

My record: 5-9

Well, if we played HOU every game, we would go to the playoffs.
Bob Shaw pitched his best game here as the Mets get 9 runs with timely hitting.
Leo Posada got a rare HR in this game.
The game got a little close in the 9th but that was because I was trying to get Shaw a CG.

We almost outduel Sandy Koufax and the LAD.
A key error in the 10th by Elio Chacon allowed the Dodgers one more batter and LAD Don Demeter blasted the game winner.
Sam Jones pitches another gem and gets a no-decision.

I sent Donn Clendenon to Quincy for some fundamentals and DFA Leo Posada.
I brought up Willie Tasby and Don Taussig to see if I could get a little more help at the plate.
Even though pitching is REALLY the problem with this infant team, but fixing that issue will take a few years.

We squeak by with a win over SF.
We needed extras in order to do it.
Even in 1962, SF Willie Mays was the man.
I really didn't think we would win this one after the Giants tied the game again.

Lee Gregory gives up 2 runs but the bullpen gives up 4 in the loss to the LAD.
After two months, we have learned that we are definitely an EXPANSION team.

MY Record: 7-11

Now that we are in June, this is when I make some promotions and demotions in the minors since every two months I make changes there.

I lost Bob Shaw for 4-5 weeks due to an injured shoulder.
I brought up Freddie Burdette to go into the bullpen and moved Robin Roberts to the rotation.
I also put Ryne Duren on waivers and he has been claimed.
So he is gone!

We were out of this game early, but Gus Triandos gets a Grand Slam in the 9th to, at least, make the score kind of respectable.
Didn't matter though as the Giants are a much better team than we are.

Donn Clendenon gets his 1st HR of the year and Robin Roberts pitches his best game also.
It might have been a shutout if not for a BIG error by Leo Burke early in the game that allowed the Phillies to cash in on 3 runs in the 2nd.

So hard to get wins with this team.
Lee Gregory wasn't too bad today, but Don Cardwell owns us again.
Although on the plus side, Triandos and Skinner had a couple of hits each.

This team plays really hard, but the pitching just keeps on letting us down.
I have a very good lineup consisting of 6 batters with an average of .273 and higher.
But the bullpen is so bad right now, they couldn't close a door.

The Mets actually sweep a double-header over the Cubs today and take 3 out of 4 in this series.
A good game by Lee Gregory, but some big HRs by Bob Skinner and Leo Burke really helped the cause.
Aparicio and Kasko had 3 hits in this game and Kasko is showing some contact ability as he is hitting .381.

Just take a look at this crazy game I just played.
The boxscore really doesn't tell it all, but this bunch of misfit Mets is on a hot streak.
Pitching on both sides were very tired, but my lineup came out on top, but just barely.
Aparicio and Richardson with 4 hits each.
Wynn Hawkins, who started as an emergency pitcher, hits a triple.
We have won 6 in a row and are beginning to make a little noise in the NL.

Record: 10-14

Our streak ends at seven games, then we lose three straight to the .45s.
Our bullpen was just terrible in this one and we had no answer for HOU Nuxhall.

The game I was planning to play versus the PIT Pirates got rained out.
So, no 2nd game for me today.
However, we did win two games over the Pirates before the rain-out.
We are 7-3 in our last 10 games.
Lets see if we can keep it going.
