An Uninhabited Island, Houston and the Colt .45 Astros
Despite how abysmal the team is, I am having a blast with my Texas Rangers replay on OOTP. However, I am no longer able to access the game while at work.
So, I got this game on my tablet and decided to do one of these while at work. I'll follow most of the same formula as my Rangers replay with highlights from the Houston game as well as scores and news from around the league. Since I prefer to Sim rather than have control over the team, I will set the option to have the computer handle the transactions and lineups. I'll be starting with the 1962 expansion Colt .45s and playing however long it goes. Sent from my K88 using Tapatalk |

The first hit in Colt .45 history belongs to Bob Aspromonte. The Houston 1B singled with one out in the bottom of the second. The first RBI in Colts .45 history belongs to Norm Larker. Bob Lillis picked up an RBI with an infield single in the bottom of the fourth. The next batter was the pitcher Turk Farrell. With a runner on first and two out, Farrell became the first Colt .45 in history to hit a home run! And it was 5-0 in favor of Houston. Don Elston began the bottom of the fifth as the new Cubs pitcher. It didn't help as Hal W Smith hit a 2-run homer. After six: Houston 7 Chicago 0. The bottom of the seventh saw the Cubs make another pitching change as Tony Balsamo took the mound. The offensive output was equally matched by the superb pitching of Turk Farrell. He ended the top of the eighth by striking out Andre Rogers for his 10th K of the game. Jack Curtis took the mound for the Cubs in the bottom of the eighth. Turk Farrell ended the game by striking out Ron Santo. It was a National League record 12th strikeout in a single game! Final score: Houston 7 Chicago 0. And a glitch. After just one game, the standings have Houston listed at 2-0 and Chicago at 0-2.
That could explain a lot why this forum is so quiet. Sent from my K88 using Tapatalk |
