Lafayette53's Uniforms
Just going to be posting stuff I've made for my fictional/historical league as I do them. No time table for completion here, but hopefully someone can get some use out of these regardless.

Cleveland Buckeyes 1921-1929
Cleveland undergoes a color scheme change to the pretty typical Baseball Blue/Red here, but leaves the red off the Jersey for now. Uniforms are mostly based on the Indians of the 1920's with the real difference being the cream color and lack of pinstripes (which were basically to the 20's what the pullovers were to the 70's- a fad). I did these a while ago so I'm likely to redo them with a cleaner design at some point. Until then, however, enjoy! |

Well I haven't touched this in almost a year, but with baseball season heating up I thought it was time to make some more of these. I am currently planning a vintage Northern California League for OOTP15 and I thought I would share my work on uniforms as I complete it. NoPepper deserves much of the thanks for this as I'm using his template with some modifications of my own courtesy of Gern and txranger.

While Richmond today is mostly known for Crime and being the location of a Basketball movie it also has a fair amount of interesting history. During World War 2 Richmond housed a temporary shipyard that built more Liberty Ships than anywhere else in the United States. Kaiser Permamente was born from the ashes of the field hospital built for Richmond's dock workers. But lesser known is that an oil refinery in Richmond has been under continuous operation since the early 20th century. As Richmond's demographics and population has changed the oil refinery, originally built by Standard Oil and currently operated by Chevron, has been a more or less permanent fixture despite the larger region's notoriety for being a left wing stronghold. Thus I thought Richmond Oilers would make an appropriate name for the team as a reference to one of the cities few unchanged institutions.

The Eureka Lumber Kings are named for Northern California's once famed Lumber industry; the remnants of which you can still see on any drive through the area. I'm using what Wikipedia calls Dartmouth Green for the uniforms, but may change it if I do post-WW2 unis for this league.

So rather than finish my small Northern California league I got distracted and did something else.
I have mostly finished a 16 team set starting in 1920 and ending somewhere in the thirties. I just wanted to release a jersey or two to gauge interest in making the rest available at some point when I'm less lazy/immersed in getting my league actually running. The logo I'm using for this specific team is obviously just the Browns cap logo with a red-orange color overlay. Enjoy! Have started work on a new league for OOTP 16 that will hopefully last me for a while. I like to start early so as I go through the ages each team will end up with a full historical set. I'll also likely be making quickstarts every decade or so depending on how I'm feeling about the league. Hope somebody else finds some use for this stuff!
First up is the Chicago Maroons (unlikely to remain called that for very long). Obviously they are named for the color of their Jerseys, as was quite common in the early 20th century time period.

Next up is the Cincinnati Royals. No particular backstory again, but Cincinnati was one of many places nicknamed "The Queen City" so its not entirely just me ripping from the NBA team

Appreciate the kind words!
New York Americans Name obviously taken from the long-defunct NHL club and the fact that New York is our biggest city.. I'm probably going to change this nickname sooner rather than later as well unless I grow attached to it for some bizarre reason. New York Metropolitans Self-explanatory name. No separate road jerseys adopted yet.
