Gambo/Spritze Database for OOTP11 released.

I have sent the OOTP11 version of my database to PadresFan's site and it should be posted soon.

Some of the new features for this year are...

1) Full combination of Spritze and Gambo's databases, using Spritzes neutralized stats engine.

2) Increased amounts of minor league, independent players including the top 50 Japanese players of all time (as rated by the baseball guru Jim Albright)

3) Real MLB statistics appear in game

Gambo why is the Photo pack not working with this DB? notable players such as pud galvin, cap anson , A-Fraud, harold baines do not show up.....and then there is the case of Frank Thomas (Big Hurt) where i have to go in and change his name now to Frank E Thomas to get his pic to show up( i haven't done it yet)

I think the photo issue may have more to do with the game. This type of issue may be fixed with the patch. It should have nothing to do with the database.

Hey guys,

For now use the database with discrection. I know most of you guys are probably waiting to the patch to come out to start a league but it looks like there may be an issue with the neutralization formulas. I am going to get with Spritze to see if we can get it fixed up but I guess you can consider this a beta to check out and see if you like it.

so far i love most of it...the game in a box doesnthave harold baines urs does which is way i am using it....right now i doing a 2000 draft trying to more or less put orig players with their teams unless their success came with another team.

Quick Update

I will be away for a couple of weeks so unless we get this fixed up in the next day or two there will not be an update until the middle of July. We do know what the issue is so it should not be too long. Here's to hoping!

Another quick update:

Found a problem with the no fastball pitch issue that is being seen. Pretty easy catch. In the master.csv I was using there was an extra column that caused the pitches not to be aligned right. The only fastball pitchers were ones the game designated as fastball pitches). I have let Spritze know to double check his and this will fix the problem.

It may (probably not but maybe) also fix up some of the fielding issues some people are seeing.

You will probably see an updated version in a couple of weeks as I will be unavailable for a bit.

Nolan Ryan came in in order, but in 1990 Ugueth Urbina popped up with only a fastball. The other pitches according to master.csv wasn´t there.

Problem with importing pitches....

What SPECIFIC settings do you use when using your database ? --- 3 year recalc, 3 year peak --- etc,

I'm not seeing an issue. However, if the game decides that he's a reliever it can ignore the pitch choices.

It may have to do with your recalc settings. There does not appear to be a problem. See if after the next season he picks up pitches. Have you seen anything else like this.

I use neutralized (of course), 3 year hitting and pitching, career fielding (it's your choice on this i sometimes use 3 year depending on the type of league), potentials based on career totals.

The problem with using peak seasons is that the stats are neutralized and the game bases "peak" on appearances/years. This isn't really the best setting i find when using a neut database.

What am I doing wrong? I started in 1984 with Gambo/Spritze DB and only get about 13 Minor Leaguers on a team, 1 Free Agent and No Asians.

I use the Spitze DB NoAsiansRealTeamRealDebuts and get about 92 Minor Leaguers and 300 Free Agents and No asians (because that is the version I'm using).

So I believe I am doing something wrong with the Gambo/Sprite DB?

Looks like the game is still using the default database. Make sure your pointing to the right .odb file (file directory). The .odb when extracted should be I think 100,000kb.

Silly request from me but you may want to double check where you extracted it to.
