24-team, 200-game schedule

24 teams, 200 games, unbalanced with interleague

Hello. It's me again.

I need a few schedule files if that's okay.

Both schedule files have the same basic structure.

2 subleagues
3 divisions in each subleague
4 teams in each division
200 game schedule

Season starts first Tuesday on or after March 14
Season therefore ends first Wednesday on or after October 25 (think I got the dates right)

This is for a "world" league so it would be preferable to have 2 or more offdays before starting and after finishing interleague play.

H/A numbers mean home and away games per opponent

In schedule 1:

SL1 plays:
20 games against each of 3 division opponents: 60 total (10H/10A)
13 games against each of 8 nondivision opponents: 104 total (6-7H/6-7A)
3 games against each of 12 teams in the other subleague: 36 total (all away)

SL2 plays:
28 games against each of 3 division opponents: 84 total (14H/14A)
10 games against each of 8 nondivision opponents: 80 total (4-6H/4-6A)
3 games against each of 12 teams in the other subleague: 36 total (all home)

In schedule 2, the subleagues switch the division/nondivision ratios, so now SL1 gets to play 28 divisional/10 nondivisional games and all their interleague games at home, while SL2 takes SL1's schedule.

Please list the file as an unbalanced schedule in the file itself.

The schedules will alternate years between schedules 1 and 2 in my league. The reason for the 2 separate schedules is I don't want a team going Australia-to-Mexico-to-Japan or something similar. The all-home/all-away fixes that. It does mean one subleague's teams have only 82 home games while the other subleague's teams have 118, but they switch the next year!

A few questions all pertaining to how to layout the games...

Do you want an All-Star Game? If so, when?

Are the interleague supposed to be all in 12 series in one stretch of the schedule? If so, when?

This is 200 games in about 225 days, which is very much in line with the offday rate for current MLB schedules. Do you want an MLB-like distribution of offdays, besides the 2+ bracketing the interleague games?

1. Yes, around mid-June. A Tuesday would be preferable.

2. Yes. It starts 4 weeks into the season.

3. Yes. I prefer off days on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Two files:

#
# 24 team schedule, 200 games
# Designed for the following configuration:
# 2 subleagues, each with 3 division, each with 4 teams
#
#
# First subleague:
# 20 games against 3 other teams in division (10H/10A)
# 13 games against 8 other teams in league (6-7H/6-7A)
# 3 games against 12 teams in other league (3A)
#
# Second subleague:
# 28 games against 3 other teams in division (14H/14A)
# 10 games against 8 other teams in league (4-6H/4-6A)
# 3 games against 12 teams in other league (3H)
#
#
# Interleague games come in one stretch after 4 weeks have passed
# All interleague games hosted by teams of one subleague or the other
# In this version of file (3) all interleague games hosted by subleague 2
# In sibling version of file (4) all interleague games hosted by subleague 1
#
# Thus subleague 1 teams have 82 home games
# and subleague 2 teams 118 home games
#
# No cases of more than 23 straight days without offday
#
# Before and after interleague play begins 2-3 offdays for all teams
#
# Because of configuration of interleague games
# some very long homestands & roadtrips around period of interleague games
#
# Series are shifted one day during the week from the MLB usual
# Typically series run here Tue to Thu/Fri and Fri/Sat to Mon
# compared to MLB of Mon to Wed/Thu and Thu/Fri to Sun
#
# All game times set at 7:05pm
#
# Season begins first Tuesday on or after March 14
# Season thus ends at end of October
#
# All-Star Game set for first Tuesday on or after June 21
