He's been on the hot seat for years now and the other shoe finally fell. Then they replace him with Julien, the other coach who's job has been hanging in the balance for a few seasons now.

On one hand, about time.

On another hand, what a surprise thry go for a coach with the "right last name". Almost a quarter century and thry still havent learned.

I personally love this line, thst the team needed "a new voice, new energy". Thats why you rehired your former coach. Idiots.

After Cunneyworth drew so much heat (including, sadly, from inside the government) for not speaking French, it's going to be a long time before Molson hires a non-Franco coach.

The vocal minority of people who care about what language the coach speaks are still a very loud group, and can cause problems. Even though most of them don't actually care about the sport or the team in question.

I had supported that team since the 80's and the Cunneyworth situation is the first time I was ever embarrassed to be a fan. MOntreal should be hiring the best players and coaches period, not the best that meet some stupid language police quota. Molsen is as weak as the **** beer they make, and the Tea Party wannabes of Quebec need to join the 21st century, or get their irrelevant selves out of the way.

I'm not really a beer drinker, but I swear, Molson is the worst beer I've ever tasted. And funnily enough, Coors would probably be second and IINM they own Molson now.
