A Request Re: Animations
Didn't really notice any of this until the latest patch but can the animations whereby ground balls hit through the 5-6 and 3-4 holes are "doubles" whilst the left or right fielder holds onto the ball watching everybody run be cleaned up in the next patch? Please?

I'm no expert but I would venture to say that 3D animation is a work-in-progress, undergoing continuing development, and that perfection will not be attained in the next patch, or the one after that, or even in this version cycle. It's going to be a long time before it's like watching the game on TV. They're coming along nicely, though, so let's give them a break.

I understand that. It just seems like something that was done recently has resulted in this one specific thing that occurs frequently enough to be really irritating, at least to me. So I'm calling it out, in part to see if I'm the only one, which maybe I am in which case carry on.

You're not the only one. Fielders holding on to balls while runners merrily traipse around the bases is the one area I hope is slotted for fixing.

I find the animations with the last patch worst then ever. Not fun.

But I don't agree with this. I believe 3D animation continues on a linear path upward. That is, it keeps getting better. I have not seen any major regressions; really, the ball-holding is the only thing that momentarily takes me out of immersion now.

I am pleasantly surprised by the 3d animations for this game. I hoping they continue to iterate and improve. I have found it extremely enjoyable to watch the games and see ball 4 bounce to the plate or watch a guy swing at a ball outside the zone or see the sliding catches or occasionally the spectacular play made by the infielder or outfielder. Home runs are satisfying as well.

There is a thread where you can report 3D Player Animation issues.
