May 1st 1929 Update
The first month is in the books. In the American League, the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers are on top with a very slim lead over Washington. But in the National League,
the Philadelphia Phillies are leading by a mere half game, and the top few teams are starting to pull away for the bottom 3 teams. Dave Barbee of the Phillies is one hot hitter, he
has 10 HRs in 13 games.

and Chicago. At one time it looked as if the Pittsburgh Pirates were going to make a serious run from the cellar to contention., thanks to a 17 game winning streak, but they have
fallen back to last place.
