Streaks, streaks, and still more streaks during the month that a team can shake a stick at. The Brooklyn Robins fell off earlier in the month with their 13 game losing skid. On the other side
of the coin, the Cincinnati Reds clawed their way back with 12 games won in a row, but have fallen off in the later part of the month with 6 straight losses. All this was happening in the
National League, but not to be outdone, the Philadelphia Phillies pulled off 11 straight wins. League leaders' the Pirates stayed with hunt with 8 in a row. The hot team over in the American
League was the Cleveland Indians and their sweep of the Senators and a 10 game winning streak.

The Washington Senators started the month off with 9 straight wins and a sweep of the Cleveland Indians to open a sizable lead. Babe Ruth broke the career home run record set
by Roger Connors at 175. He now has 177. Pittsburgh still holds a small lead in the National League as the second, third and, fourth place teams battle it out.

In the National League, the Philadelphia Philies came storming to claim the top spot thanks to a 21-7 month of July. They displaced Pittsburgh, as the Pirates stumbled to their second
consecutive sub .500 month. In the American League, the Senators looked as if they would be stumbling as they saw a season high three game skid. But finished 21-9 for the month.

A reversal of fortunes for the Philadelphia Phiilies over in the National League. Philly once lead by a much as 5 games and then hit a brick wall and lost 8 straight. Meanwhile,
Pittsburgh sort of found their groove back and have a very slim lead. In the American Prague, the Senators are poised to capture their 4th straight title and 6 of the last 7 years.
And we have a Home Run battle shaping up with 6 players looking to be Home Run King.
