NY issues...

OK. So I started a historical simulation in 1921 and took control of the Red Sox franchise. My goal is to stop NY from taking all those WS championships in the 20’s and beyond. But here’s a little “back to the future” problem I’ve encountered…

The Yankees supposedly win their first series in 1923. I figured by starting in 1921 that would give me TWO full years to prepare to take them down. HOWEVER, in 1921 the Yankees are supposed to make it to the WS and lose to the NY Giants of the NL. Now, I’m only in July of ’21 and the Yankees have about an 8 game lead in AL BUT the Giants however are in 4th place in NL and quite a few games back. I may have taken a pitcher off of free agency in March that was supposed to end up on the Giants squad. Now if the Giants don’t win the NL pennant and go to the WS does that mean the Yankees possibly win their first series in 1921 instead of 1923? Am I causing the exact OPPOSITE effect that I had planned? Am I leading baseball into a world where the Yankees dynasty starts two years EARLIER than it should? Oh, the IRONY!

You should have started the game in 1919. Then you would refuse to sell Ruth to the Yankees and your job would be a lot easier. The Yankees three championships in the 1920s are probably fewer than they really should have won.

I thought about going that route. Then I decided I'd try to figure out a way to grab Gehrig in '23 instead.
I'll probably end up in the cellar for a decade and the Yankees will have an extra 4-5 championships when all is said and done
