What does the Bench Coach do?
My bench coach has decent ratings, but his "Hitting" Rating is very low...like a 3.
Is this important for a Bench Coach? |

According to the manual he's something like a 'Fielding Coach' in addition to being the guy who manages the team if the manager is ejected.

I try to ensure my bench coach has strong ratings that match my Managers weaknesses as an offset.
