"Spoony" Palm

THE NEGRO LEAGUES BOOK, by Dick Clark and Larry Lester, listed this player as Robert Clarence "Spoony" Palm. Seamheads.com has dropped the Robert part of the name, and has him as Clarence "Spoony" Palm. Spoony was a catcher in the Negro Leagues from 1927 through 1946, having played with a multitude of teams. He is shown here with the Chicago American Giants in a photo from Phil Dixon's THE NEGRO BASEBALL LEAGUES: A PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY.
