The Time Device of Self Destruction

What's the worst implosion you've ever seen a team go through to end a season? The Pittsburgh team in my current random debut battled back from an 8 game deficit to tie Baltimore for the division lead with just over 2 !/2 weeks left in the season. Pittsburgh then lost a game to fall one game back before the two teams met for 3 game weekend series. Baltimore swept them in that series and with Pittsburgh now down 4 games, they just kept on losing. Before it was all said and done, they would lose 13 games in a row.

Crazy thing is, they still managed to hold off Seattle by a game to secure homefield advantage in the wildcard series. The win that finally snapped their losing streak proved enough to do that. They also finished with a better record than the Central division leaders Cleveland.

Pittsburgh didn't fare any better in the wildcard series, dropping 2 straight to Seattle to lose the series.

Vic Willis, is probably in line to win the Cy Young, finishing the season 19-5 for Pittsburgh. Sad thing is, Vic had a chance to be the leagues first 20 game winner, as he was 19-2 at one point. He lost his last 3 decisions down the stretch and took a no decision in game one of the wildcard series as well. Crazy.

This is a league that plays only 132 games. The regular season ends the first week of September.

Vic Willis with 19 wins in a 132 game season is pretty impressive. What year setting are you using for this one? Are you using 5 man rotations?

1974 and since it's a short season I'm using always start highest rested. Stamina is normal, use of relievers is normal and closers is either often or very often(at work and can't remember).

How’s the league coming along? Is this the 18 team, 3 division league?

I'm playing season 3 right now. Up to May 16th. Seattle a wildcard team took home the season 2 crown.
