I've been amazed at how well you have posted results, with the time and effort involved. MANY THANKS for all of the enjoyment that you have provided! It is very understandable that you are ready for a break from it.

I want to echo all the previous statements as well, you've done a hell of a job running these thing Dave. It's completely understandable if you're burned out on it. If it's done then it's been a heck of a run.

Was just checking that you were alive and well Dave ... since I started my new job last April I've had to cut back all my sim times as well ... the LBA is running very very slowly ...
Hope no one took my post as rushing Dave along ... just thought it was strange that we had gone 10 days without hearing from him |

Dave, I also wanted to echo the sentiments of others in the league, as your efforts have been greatly appreciated.

I have to be honest, but I had not checked in lately as I have no one in the EOY tournament. But when a hobby becomes work it is time to ask why am I doing this. I was once in 4 Strat leagues and finally had to quit three, so I understand where Dave is at. Dave, you have done a great job running this league and what ever decide to do I will be OK with it.

Yeah, thanks for your time and effort. I had a feeling you were getting burned out as the season dragged on and I sort of saw the end coming. I commend you and Sal for your effort to keep this little league ticking. Its hard to keep interest when the schedule is spotty and I think that many of us sort of lost interest as well. Real life catches up with all of us from time to time. As for the league staying afloat, well,as mentioned above,I think two or three should be in charge so that the league could run on a regular schedule thus maintaining interest from everyone. It is simply too much for one person to do...and do the right way. If it's the end,it has been a fun ride and my thanks to everyone who had a hand in making this league a success. Peace fellas.

Okay I am thinking about resurrecting the UTBA over on my site .... a few changes though ... we of course would need to start all over
1) I think I will limit it to 12 teams total (although I could be convinced to go with 16), two six team divisions with the top 4 overall teams going to the playoffs ... all season games will be within the division so there would be 10 weeks for the season ... home and home with home-town judges ... points the same as the previous league 2) will only do one week of fights per week (it's all I have time for) and will do the fights live on yuuguu either Tuesday night around 9:45 EST or Saturday night around 9:45 EST 3) there will not be the stats that Dave did because honestly I don't have the time or the desire to do so 4) there will be fictional fighters used as free agents ... that way it saves all the real fighters for the draft .. the draft will be used as a roll-call at the end of each season 5) divisions will be HW, LHW, MW, WW, LW, FW, BW, FLY ... with jr. weight moving up or down so CW can be either a HW or a LHW and so on maybe more rules to come but as anyone who is familiar with the LBA I am good at sticking with things so there won't be the worry of the league's demise, it might be slow going but it will go ... if anyone is interested PM me here ... I will only take a team if there is the need ... if I get enough interested I will start to put it together ... |
